OK

Im in two minds of what to do, ive owned my zed for about 3yrs now and wanting to start modding it in a big way but ive had a notion for a escort cossie for a long time now and i just dont know whether to sell up and go for the cossie or to start the modding prosses on my zed!

The other thing is that my zeds a standard 93spec uk spec tt manual with only 50k on the clock and in mint condition!

All the orginal stickers full service history etc etc etc, the only thing that it has is clear side repeaters.

It just feels like a shame to start modding it now! :nono:

I was thinking of buying another zed that has a bit of work done but this will mean i have two cars and only one driver!

Has anybody got any views thats gonna help me make my mind up or even any experiences

Thanks :)

I thought you put pics in by typing the image link inbetween the IMG's

You need the hypertext protocol prefixing the urls...thus...

Thats some nice driving there , like it when ur mate tells u to slow down, spin quite nicely controlled lol :)

Between E/cos & Z it would be Z everytime 4 me !

Cheers Martin

Buy an escort and see what you think. As has been said, they hold their price so if you decide you dont like it sell up and start modding a zed!

Def wont be keepin 2 cars as i know i will end up keepin both and theres just no point! :slap:

Startin to lean a bit more now towards the cossie, suppose if i see the one that ticks all the boxes for me that may make my mind up!

There was a pic on here once of a zx tour with a wide ass 300 on it with split rims and very smooth, i have searched the links for it but never could find it again! Its done the way i wanted to do mine, so if any knows what im on about and has the pic plzzz post.

Well if it was me mate I'd keep the zed. They just look much better and the problem is that you can make a 1.1 escort look just like a cossie! Loads around here.

Ivan

I like the Cossie, however to the untrained and unenlightened they just look like a Barry'd up Escort unfortunately.

The ZX still turns heads for the right reasons, plus I prefer a coupe to a hatchback.

The Cossie makes for some good twisty road driving fun though so it is a difficult call. However from what you have just said about how much you'd use it, I'd definately keep the ZX. I just wouldn't bother spending £12k+ to buy a car that I'd hardly drive.

I had similar thoughts a year ago - sell the ZX and buy a 350z. But the 350z just didn't seem worth £22k when compared to the driving pleasure I get from the ZX so I kept it as a weekend car, saved myself £10k and spent the remaining £12k on a daily driver.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

the escort uses the sierra floor pan so its a bit of a hybrid, u can tell a real escort cosworth from the fakes by the front calipers as there in the same place as the sierras, towards the rear of the car, anythin less than a cosworth they're towards the front, anyways am totally off topic yea the cosworth can look mean and with the rite mods are very quick but as ChrisC said the Z can rival supercars on looks combined with the fact it could be made as fast as one i would go for the Z everytime =)

See thats another thing ever since i was young ive alway had a car for 'mucking about in' and the zeds good for that in a car park or the open road just not on the wee back roads! :smash:
