Hey everyone just signed up there recently and have been on the look out for a Zed for a while now, anyway i've been looking at this one and would really appreciate any opinions on it. The guy is looking for £2,200 it has 113,000km on it. I've been told that the belts weren't done since the car came into the country (Aug 2005) but there is a sticker in the engine bay saying a major service was done at 78,000km (I know, means nothing!) No smoke from engine or turbo, at idle, on boost or on over run. Running standard 7 psi boost. No compression tests have been done. Ok basically do people reckon it's worth the money? Thanks in advance for any replies, I've had a look around the site had have to say it is a bottomless pit of helpful knowledge and advice  I'll be signing up once I loose my Zed virginity :)

One final question before I go, for the guys signed up here from Ireland, are there any zed specialists over here? where do you get services done etc?

Thanks again for reading this everyone.

At first glance it looks like a tidy car but would really need to see it in person before I could give an honest opinion. Shame I don't live near swansea so I could check it out with a mate, as I really haven't got anything better to do.

All I can do is compare it with mine and let you make up your own mind. I got a black '89 (z32) TT auto and Targa roof. Mine come with fox alloys, leather trim, lowered, tinted windows and undersealed...also an import, 117000 km and the belt has been changed. I got all this for the bargain price of £1250.

....................Just kidding £3000!

Only had my Zed a couple of months and loved it every day since. I even seperated with my lass 3 days after I got it (mutual, ; her decision) which made me smile even more...well almost.

Good luck with it all.

IMO i dont see how he can say its 60k miles it has a hole in the drivers side i did 100k in my zed and it was scuffed but no hole. i have been looking on ebay for a cheapy to build up from scatch and some of them on there are a joke one guy said his done 70k and the leather on the steering wheel had worn off. just dont have your heart set on the first zed you see cause if its a bad one it will cost big time or youll end up breaking it like so many other zeds

Agreed with Dipone. Mine's done 60k and my driver's seat is like new.

Shame the seller couldn't even clean the thing before taking photos of it.

Cheers for the replies guys, I had noticed the drivers seat alright and was wondering about it. The seller is to email me more picks of interior, engine bay, arches, 4 corners, wing mirrors etc tomorrow so i'll see how they look apparently there isn't a scratch on it. I am conscious of the fact that I will need to get belts done, for piece of mind at least, and I'd prob re-upholster the interior, if I do get it, it will be as a project for the next while.

Hi mate that car has current bid of £2,200 which mean it might go for more, plenty of better ones about on here for sale for not a lot more money, check this out (http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=86565)

Dont rush into loseing your virginity mate coz when you buy one you will be fooked lol only kidding

Bids to £2200 for an auto without leather and still 5 days to go?? I have been watching ebay for Zeds for nearly a month now looking for a daily drive while mine is off the road and they usually finish about £1600 with most of the bidding done in the final hours.

I would definately not buy a TT off ebay without seeing it and taking it for a good long drive, I understand that is difficult with you being in Ireland and would recommend buying one off here if seeing the car in person is a problem, you can read back through the owners history on the site and see all the things he has to say about the car, a little bit more security and peace of mind for you.

here is one to compare.

Its in the for sale section under.....

"1992 Fairlady 300ZX Twin turbo auto" etc.

Mine is newer, has leather. has replaced turbos etc

i wouldnt describe mine as immaculate cos it isnt, but it is tidy.

I have already done the spoiler repair job also.

My price is a maximum of £2500 and you dont need to decide in 7 days

Running standard 7 psi boost.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't 7psi safety boost. It should be running at 9psi.

Well when you put it like that! :) yours is definately more tempting!

@Suffolkzx: Your right piece of mind is a big thing, and the more I think about this ebay one the more it just doesn't seem right.

@DCarey: yea I was thinkin that aswell, after i did a bit more reading up.

slickpete is a long time Zed owner and trusted member, I have not seen his car but if I had to buy one without seeing it this would be the one I would go for.

yea thanks for that, like you said it's tough trying to buy one without seeing it, so obviously this is a major plus point.

Thanks again everyone for the replies, it's been very helpful

spongy also has one for sale looks very tidy, pearl white and it's a manual, priced at 3K it's in the for sale section, Pete's is very good buy too, so you have a choice of 2, with out the buying through flea bay!

I believe that as its an import the boost scale is calibrated differntly from a UK spec model ( I cant remember what the scale is) but it is equivalent to 9psi but it would probably be worthwhile confirming in any case.
