what shall I do????

ok, most of you who have been around the club a while know of all the problems I have had so I won't go in to them.

now I have spent so much on it iv completely lost count and I don't know whether to keep putting money in to it or just buy another one. all my car actually needs is a new engine then the rust off the arches sorted (its getting worse) then I want a wide arch kit and some nice wheels.

alternatively do I just but one done already that I like???

I don't really have any particular price that I don't want to pay or anything, would just want a minter.

what do you all think?

Do what i did, buy a car, the right colour with a sound engine then just bolt on what you want, i saved myself 3000 on a colour change just by buying the car.

yep it would have cost you another 3k for a red one

Heavely sponsored by "RIBENA"   :)

Not sure how your situation started as only seen your threads since december.

My view is if you done all that work and still thinking of changing then you kinda already made up your mind.

I personally would get a 'minter' of your choice to get you back in the right direction

buy a minter! you owe it to yourself after all the trouble youve had.

I feel for you mate, all the effort you have put into that car and you still haven't got it done. Mine was off road for three months and it broke my heart so you must be so fed up.

I hope you make the right decision mate.

i think ive already said this to you mate but the car you got has been nothing but trouble and it needs putting down ;) break it up for bits (which will make you feel alot better ripping it apart!! trust me it will) make some of your money back on it and buy a decent one to start with :) theres plenty of them around.

if you need any advice give me a bell

Mike

i agree with mike get another one. break yours keep the best bits for your new one and sell the rest.

Going through the same problem as you mate.

I had to decide to sell mine and its through my own choice not because of any problems with her so if your having crap after crap with yours mate then bite the bullet and go for a solid minter.

Just keep all the good bits for yourself :) and stick them on your new motor.

Is there much point in buying a minter if you're going to rip it apart to put a wide arch kit on it? Also, are you going to find a Z with a wide arch kit on it for sale? Seldom see them come up for sale.

IMHO, as yours needs doing bodywork to it, it's almost ideal to get a wide arch kit fitted to it.

The engine issue, if the ex-trader that sold you the engine pulls his finger out of its arse and gives you some remittance in view of buggered engine, then you'll be able to make a headway with that.

I've also not seen a sapphire blue wide arch Z before and think it would look pretty stunning.

I agree with Si, if you defo want a wide bodied car, why buy a mint one and then have to cut it up, have a look at the work last year I posted as mine went through the wide body fitting. Alot of the arches are cut away during this process.

Also if you stick with a similar blue, either flip etc the engine bay wouldnt look to much out of place. Also if you kept with yours, you would have one of the newest, UK widebodied cars.

I guess at the end of the day you need to make a wish list out. Colour, year, gearbox and then go from there.

Which ever way, its going to cost.

if i was going to spend the money that bird i going to on a zed i would want one with no rust at all on it. i no he will be cutting the rear up to put the arches on but that car hasn't been looked after at all by the sounds of things so i would go over the body with a fine tooth comb IMO

Got the engine out in bits etc....

i agree but at the end of the day its an old car, even if you get a newer one your still talking a 10 year old + car!!

it looks stunning.

It would be if it didn't have that spoiler and those rear lights. ;)

Yes that's why they are reserved for you Si :) , I know how much you love big spoilers and aftermarket rear lights lol

it is a nice looking car, would look alot better out in the open i recon :)

and lets face it its not major expense removing the lights and removing the spoiler ;) a few hundred quids worth of work!!

the abflug wide arch kit is mega expensive so its had a fortune spent on it.

As I said when you first started throwing money at it...BUY ANOTHER ONE! and if you have any problems or need any work doing take it to a Zed Specialist to put it right. Good luck in whatever you decide to do :)

wide arch zeds are very hard to come by in japan!!

just give me 7k for mine lol, then i will buy that gorgous blue zed that kirbz has in his sig (or that fantastic yellow one)

With what you'd spend on a minter could you not spend that on yours and make it mint??? AS it's been Said Wide arch Zed very rearly come up, although i know luke had a wide arch one Been re-sprayed blue, but had no engine in it... think he was after 3K for it??

Neil

Bird mate, what would it cost to do the engine in yours, add that to the cost of a wide arch kit and bodyshop costs. Then price up a new moter with wide archs and see which is the better option.

Personaly I would have the lump out, send it for the arch kit and then while its away do the engine, slap it all together and you have a new car anyway.
