I've thought about doing the same.

 

But

 

1) I don't really have the money for a 350Z

 

and

 

2) the 300ZX is rarer and has more presence

 

 

 

It depends what you want though. If I was considering a 350Z I'd think about a Sylvia S15 and a Integra DC5 too. But to be honest I'd rather keep my (NA) 300ZX than have any of them right now.

I've never thought that much of the 350Z. Whilst it's quite nice, I've never thought it to be a 'nicer' replacement for the 300ZX TT. Sure, the 350Z is quicker than the N/A, so can see you're point. But as far as looks go, it just doesn't have anywhere near the road presence of the Z32.

 

But if I had the cash for a 350Z, I'd not buy one. Probably go for a Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo.

I've thought about this often though. I do feel that at some point I'd like a different car but I love the zed so much I wouldn't want to sell it. Plus I don't have the space for more than 2 cars.

350z only if I had the extra monies after I finnish my collection of other car's first ( the Mazda Cosmo, the S13 my drift bitch, and a Honda NXS) and then I'd super charge it.

Totally agree with Si - the 300 looks miles better than the 350z.

 

But that Lotus would be unreliable and expensive to run compared to a 350Z for the same money. Lovely looking car though!

My Dad's got a Jap import 350z Roadster... Fantastic car.

 

Not really comparable to a 300zx. My 300zx is a brutal beast - the acceleration and handling are akin to driving a race prepped car. The 350, whilst still a rocket, is more refined, quieter and smoother.

 

Both fantastic cars, but quite quite different.

I think you're taking him a little bit too seriously.

 

It's certainly not as butch looking as a 300zx.

The 300ZX is the choice of the head doorman or moderately sucessful 'tough' gym owner.

 

350Z owners are never as hard.

I like the 350 z may get one when the prices come down .Im a little concered that autocar magazines long term test 350 has had a new engine fitted due to low oil pressure .Nissan are investigating this problem .Its only dones 8000 miles from new.

350z is an excellent car within its class. the 300zx is beyond that class! i was going to buy a 350z before my 300zx TT. no its not money that stopped me, but i've always wanted a 300zx and the 1 i got was in great original condition.

 

hoenstly i think the 350z is a great car, it rides well, has a lot of power (yea yea not quite as fast as a 300TT), but the handling is excellent. i dont know about the autocar thing but they are very reliable. test drive one, and also test drive a honda s2000 both great cars.

 

if you want something that handles reaally well tho, look at the boxster s or a 996 911 (ok putting on the flame retardant jacket on now)

I saw a 350zed in a petrol station today and had a brief look inside. Crap, if you like all that new plastic tacky looking tat then you will like it. doesnt seem to have the same meaness about it and i dont think you would feel the same presance in one as a zed.

 

Me and my mate both come to the conclusion that they have had 17yrs since they made mine to improve and design a "better" car but its still not up to the cut.

 

Looks nice, bit of a hairdressers car (one whose doing well though) but this is coming from someone whose never been in one or driven in one. Sounds very quiet aswell, no growl or grunt when he pulled off.

 

All above comments are in my own personal view and mean no offence to anyone who has one

theres no comparison ,,if i did have a 350 i would have to chuck 10 k at it just for starters,,ps no 350 zeds even got to the final at jae in the show tent bud?
