I have bought and broke perfectly good zeds because they are worth more in parts than they are whole. This lat month we have broken 4 zed that didnt really have a great deal wrong with them. The scrap man comes once a week roughly and takes our shells and crap and everytime a shell goes i wonder how long it will be before there is not alot left :(

But the 300zx hasnt been produced over here since the mid 90's and the law now wont allow newer models over. Where as newer skylines, rx's and supra's are still about, most zeds you see are either G, H, J, reg's sometimes K or L reg's skylines, rx's supra's you see a lot later

the law does allow it - it's just not worthwhile to get the appropriate type approvals as the demand (read profit) wouldn't be as high when you consider the popularity of shylins etc etc.

Didn't they bring in a few R33GTRs for a short time?

Think I vaguely recall something of that nature. Was hardly any, so the skyline is still something of in import exotic rather than a UK car which the Z was.

Times change, the car is a fookin Fossil in motoring terms

(a extremly sexy fossil I grant you)

I mean look back a few years a Uk manual was the holy grail now they come up on here and there is no interest

Again a few years ago how many members did you have on here under the age of 30? not many I guess, but the car has become more accessible due to the drop in price and this has meant it has been worth bringing more in to the country as there is a demand at this price

My car has only been in the country a year and its a 92

and its worth less than 2 grand

It aint gonna get any better you either have one cos you want one or forget it cos you are always gonna lose money on these Babies

never a truer word said

That's cause UK cars are generially in a haggard high mileage and rusty state now. There are a few exceptions to that rule. Not to mention a rather large number of very very poorly modified ones. That's not to say there aren't shagged looking JDM ones....as there certainly are. Seen a few on here unfortunately.

I'd still pay between £4k and £5k for a top condition TT Manual with low mileage and I think a lot of people on here would as well. As with all things though, they are only worth as much as people are prepared to pay for them. In much as the same way as most on here wouldn't pay stupid money for a chavd up 'featured' max power Corsa.

most supra's skylines rx-7's are averaging 10years old now and prices have dropped off, so i think they have all ended up in a nieche, besides as japanese cars are so popular, prices need to be reduced, because of competition and the such

as long as you the owner is happy who cares

Stop breaking them then

Headgasket went (Viscous fan failed), so I started my planned V8 project....removed engine, interior, suspension....in prep for new parts...

Then it got to the point where I had so many people asking for parts, offering good money that I broke entire car for close to £5k, and project will be started on another zed now.
