Hey there, im new on the forum so sorry for any mistakes i make.

Anyway, i own a Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 T-Spark, its a wonderful car, but nowhere near powerful enough for my needs :D So, i went about looking for a more powerful car, i looked at Supras, but i think the price of them since Fast & The Furious came out is just stupid, so i looked at some Mistubishi GTO's and they were also quite expensive as i couldnt find a standard one.

Then came the next 3.0 Twin Turbo, the 300ZX, i found one on Ebay and the guy selling it told me that the Automatic gearbox had an electrical fault and the car wouldnt shift into top gear from 2nd. Anyway, the car was going at what seemed like a good offer, so i put a bid on it, and won, im going to collect the Zed this Friday and i just wanted to know if these faults are common and what do i need to do with the gearbox?

Also, the car has 3 inch stainless steel flame tipped twin exhausts, twin bailey dump valves, A stage 1 chip (removed speed limiter & remapped fuel), Apexi single intake air filter and a boost gauge, the turbo boost pressure has also been set to 15psi and the guy says the car is running approx. 150BHP, does this sound about right?

Thanks,

Ethan Megrath

Sorry!!!! My mistake, my Alfa is 150, the guy selling me the 300 is quoting 350bhp...does that sound about right?

And do you have any idea how much a repair would cost.

Thanks

I would like a manual conversion, but funds arent that high, especially around christmas.......do you know how much the repair could cost?

Ethan.

Your cheapest and easiest option is to find a good second hand box, not changing out of second is a classic dead box symptom

And for £1500, you can get a manual conversion done! i'm sure someone is selling a complete manual conversion for around £700, and you can get the work done for £500 which is £200 cheaper.
