I had one before my current Zed. Worst car I have ever owned TBH. Electricals were shite and it wheelspan as soon as a drop of rain hit the road (decent tyres as well). I'd never touch 'em again

Maybe I was unlucky with my problems, but it was only a 3 year old car when I had it

The cars are fine for what they are. Had good reviews about them when they were launched. The XE equiped cars wheel spin all over the place. I had a Cavalier GSi as a daily runner and it did the same. They are basically the same as the Calibra as the GSi shares the same rear IRS suspension set up. Wack a set of good quality lowering springs on it (I had H&R on mine) and it makes a huge difference. Mine handled very well. I do miss the car as well.

Only real problems with the cars are the chassis. Rear chassis rails rot for a past time.

You should be able to pick up a newer 2.0 8v or Ecotec equiped 16v for about £800 the chassis are better on the newer ones by quite a long way.

Steer clear of the older ones unless in very good condition. The C25XE (V6 can be expensive to repair, although a pretty decent and nice sounding engine).

im going to hide i see funk writing a big report byee

I should think all £600 Calibras will be sheds.

no all calibra's are £600. i have just got a vectra 1998 S reg 2.0l SRI 140 and must say im impressed. calibra's didnt seem to last that long before things went wrong i wouldn't have one but that IMO

I actually quite like Calibras. Nice looking cars. Most of the early ones were broken for spares and most that are left now are Kev'd up
