i thimk i need a new coolant temp sensor but im having probs getting one as my car is an import

i cleaned my sensor up but still no joy

my biggest prob is that the connector that goes onto the sensor is a bit broken so is loose when on top of the connector i think this is half the problem does anyone have any suggestions ??/

ive seen people do away with he connector and just hard wire them up, but be sure to get the wires round the right way and insulate them both from each other

im sure the temp sensor will be the same on import and uk cars

They are the same. Find some spade connectors that fit the terminals of the sensor, chop the plug and fit those instead ;) Doesn't matter which way round they go - its only a resistor ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Get yourself a volt-ohm meter and a thermometer to check the resistance out at the reference temperatures in the repair manual. I have checked a few out ... but have yet to find one that was out of spec though. Usually it is the corrosion on the connection. This is a common problem with 300ZX cars.

Best of Luck,

i replaced both of my coolant sensors. Best way is to get the larger from MJP and the smaller from CZP in america as its cheaper.
