hi

recently it would seem i am getting a lot of noise from the rear of the car. Which i suspect is the wheel bearings. Before i go out and start anything. I would like to know if there are any tips advice or links avalibe for this problem?

Also how easy are wheel bearings to change on a 300 and how exspensive? or is that a daft question. :smash:

They're not a difficult DIY job, no special tools needed, they're quite expensive though, about £230 for the pair.

They are sided though. Left and right are different. Thought they were closer to £150 each.

I have both rear bearings from a 1994 TT with 30000miles both complete in the hub. £65 delivered for both.DSC00053.JPG

Are you absolutely sure its the wheel bearings and not just the pads worn down to the 'wear indicators'?

These rub on the disc and make a grinding sound just like a ****ed wheel bearing ;)

I've got a weird on as well, my rear drivers whel makes a small click on every revolution. Any ideas on that?? I was thinking it might be along the same lines.

I got exactly the same problem mate.. Think it could be the problem with the worn pads.. I will inspect that first....

oh n by the way make sure u have a 27mm socket .. theres a huge bugger bolt on the back of the hub

Try swapping front wheels with someone ;) Known the banding in the tyre to snap making it click on every revolution ;)
