just heard he died after a sting ray stung him in the chest, i loved this guy and intended going to his zoo in OZ very sad :cry: R.I.P

I recon most people tuned in every week to see him get bit. But killed by a stingray, guess thats not how he reconed he was gona go

Very Very sad, i really enjoyed watching this guy, learned a lot about reptiles and stuff by watching him..

It is sad news, the guy was a born entertainer enjoyed watching his show often very entertaining, dare i say it in my own twisted way to see if he got bit, i think we all did, but not to lose his life He did take some chances, it was only a matter of time i think. Its strange to think something he loved so much was inevitably going to kill him. Sad loss

RIP. Always enjoyed watching him, but I guess he did take some risks and sooner or later something was bound to go wrong. A sad loss. I think it's fair to say that he raised a lot of peoples' awareness about reptiles, and got them more interested in the natural world. Gutted.

RIP Top bloke , hope his zoo gets looked after as he had a lot of love for the animals. I doubt theres many who would understand them like he did. I guess his missus will carry it on.

Agree there mate,infact very harsh.

The man died doing what he loved and done best,working with wild and sometimes very dangerous animals,at the end of the day it was his livelyhood whether working at his zoo or being onscreen for entertainment value,it doesn't matter whether you die at war or emphysema a death is a death and should be treated with more consideration.

To be honest mate, being trapped under water with a hole through your heart and poison burning away inside your veins desperately trying to get back to the surface is a horrible way to die.

 

I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

ITV news said that stingrays are normally harmless but when they attack they have this long sting thing (my wording) which unfortunately pierced his heart...any other place he'd been ok..R.I.P Steve

the guy done fantastic work for the wildlife of australia, yes he profited but he also risked his own life to save the life of an animal (i know people that wouldnt do that for another human being)

 

so lets less the slanging and give the bloke the respect he deserves
