Nope, that's about it bud, just be careful with the oven though, you defo don't wana melt them (like I did :nelson: ) Hope you've got your coloured bulbs? Take your time, clean everything while they are apart, maybe even put some aluminium tape as a better reflector.

All the best with it,

Dave

thats the link i followed and still could not get them apart as said be carefull not to melt your lights, and put the lights on something soft when your working on them you dont want to scratch the lenses

So I presume after you melted the originals you went and bought some proper 99spec lights?

I don't have the orange bulbs yet, thanks for reminding me.

Did you ever manage to get them apart or did you give up?

Thanks for the tips.

Also, I am thinking about using some electrical tape to make black strips across the lenses, is this sensible or should I use a different material?

Cheers, Mike...

Nip down to Halfruads, and buy the thinest pin striping you can find, that'll do it, but it takes a hell of a lot of patience to apply them!

The black stripes are 1/16 inch wide' date=' and run a half inch from the top and bottom of the lights, with 5/8 inch between them[/quote']

From another forum.

Wasn't it originally a Cat Stevens song?

Maybe Boyzone is more appropriate!

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm off to Hellfrauds to get a couple of bulbs and some sticky tape...

I feel like a Blue Peter presenter :slap:

You'll need a can of WD-40 aswell to clean all the black gunk off everything, because believe me it gets everywhere ;)

Well...

What a fook up! I got the clustes out ok but after heating them I caused some damage and ended up breking the outer casing!

Now I have given up and put the old setup back in. I am planning on getting the proper "99spec" setup. but in the meantime I have managed to cause some sort of problem for the breaking lights!

A verey bad day for me...

Thanks for all of the advice.

Anybody want to buy my clear lense conversion (it hasn't been touched)If they read this thread they will just laugh
