hey guys... someone i kinda know is selling a 1991 fairlady/300zx twin turbo for $9k canadian... since you guys are in UK, that's about 4500 pounds!

my question is why so cheap? it's a RHD from japan, 54,000kms, twin turbo, fully loaded. look at the pics

thats prob slightly above average price for that over here!!

maybe we should export all our cars over there for sale!! :D

It looks clean but it's an auto, I personally would steer clear of Japanese spec auto's on a Z. (Got no gearbox cooler)

auto gearbox coolers are usually under the radiator right? i can't custom make one with an "In" line and an "Out" from the gearbox?

my mates got a j-spec auto with no autobox cooler and his runs fine, would prob be an idea to fit an auto cooler to be on the safe side but if its standard spec you should be ok

the usual upgrade is to get the UK-spec autobox cooler. car looks good from the pics but there are plenty of things that need checking first - theres a buyer's guide on here somewhere. take it out for a good drive first!

ok he sent me about 17 huge pics... i'd love to post them in their original size, is that ok? just so you '300zx experts' can see if anything is wrong with it

here are some close-ups... does it look like it was in any accidents to you guys? it's quite obvious he ran a hose over it quickly to take some pics

some nice pics there mate. it looks like some of the boost piping has been replaced (the thin blue/purple pipes in the engine bay), although i dont like the look of the blue pipe going so close to the rad fan and radiator piping!

Wouldnt worry about the lack of an auto box cooler he is in canada, its plenty cool enough there most of the year that the japspec cooler will be fine.

Buyers guide cna be found here mate : http://300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=28236

Best of luck and check the car over but it does look in good condition from the pictures, plus at your gas prices you wont be disapointed!

thanks guys... now i need me a 4000 loan :)

is that the paint stripping around the top of the shock towers?

another thing is, how hard is it to work on these cars? i have a mazda protege with a bp motor on it and i must say it's really simple, it's a 4cyl, you open the hood and the layout of the engine is pretty simple... everything is infront of you... but when i look at the 300zx engine i'm totally lost! is it hard to do simple stuff like spark plugs? oil filter? head gasket?

But if you're running it in the heat of Jamaica, you'd better upgrade it mate!

Richard

EDIT - sorry, it's just your name - I see you are from Canada.......

......I really must learn to read properly one day :p

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I don't think there's anything easy on a Zed! :(

Although I have personally managed to replace the water in the washer bottle. Oh yes, I am good. :nana2:

yea i'm in victoria, canada. but ti's friggin hot... it was up in 30's in the middle of summer... now it's down to 20's which is still hot. but once winter come it will start to cool down

what about little stuff like spark plugs... oil and oil filter?

btw... how the hell do i edit my post? i see no edit button, but other people are editing their post

gotta be subscribed to edit, I do oil and filter every 3000miles, sparkies are good for 60000 miles and smithy does em and also cooler ones for higher boost engines...only thing i can see wrong from those pictures is someone has put the steering wheel on upside down :slap:

Working on em is something that takes good planning and thought and also trying really hard not to drop things in the engine bay
