come play on a real bike bud.....

...just one of my baby's...... ;)

sorry didnt realise you didnt have a upgraded oil cooler...deffinitely the first thing you should do, along with a gearbox oil change and a gearbox filter clean, you will need 8.7 litres of dexron III oil, apparently royal purple is the oil of the moment.I am saving up for a manwell conversion and will just drive the car and continue modding till gearbox shows signs of giving up

If you're not racing, but just want to make a quick getaway from the lights then the following works.......

.......use half throttle for the first few metres, just to ensure you have decent traction. Sure, the odd boy racer will around a nose or a car length ahead by 15mph; once you've reached 15-20, nail it an everything else is a blur in the rear view mirror.

Sure, you won't achieve maximum 0-100 times like Retro620ti ;) but it's still quick enough to see off most things.........

............and your gear box will live a little longer :nelson:

Save Retro's technique for the drag strip/track days :D

Richard :smw:

PS uprate that 'box oil cooler if yours is an import; UK cars are usually fine as they have the bigger 'cooler as standard.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

for peace of mind and 2 hours work a autobox upgrade cant hurt mate, plus the royal purple oils have shown to increase torque and power

No probs mate!

Mine's a UK spec to and I've had no auto box problems in over 3 years (25k miles) since I've owned the car. I did use it as a daily driver for a fair while - hard driving 50 miles per day too.

You can manually change gears too, but as these cars are so quick you have to change up fairly swiftly, otherwise it is slower than leaving it in drive (ie you it the limiter and it won't go any more). Max speed in first comes up quicker than you can imagine.........

Richard :)

can you bang the auto box in second when coming up to round abouts and sharp turns for extra engine breaking and acceleration or will this knacker the box? (im not interested in wether or not that technique is best, just if it is o.k on the box)

Yes it's fine - as long as you are within the speed range for the gear you change down to.

Also watch this in the wet so you don't upset traction.
