hey guys what causes the dipstick to come out on its own ?? the car has been running sh1t since i raced my mate on his bike i thought ity might be a coilpack or plug cos its been slightly missing and running generally crappy like stalling on its own and idleing poorly but had a look under the bonnet today and the dipstick had come out and pissed oil everywhere this indicates theres a problem something gotta pushed it out i.e compression leak any advice on this ?????

then a compression check is in order

yeah its going in monday see what the crack is

Start the car and pull the dip stick out. If she is fuming or pushing out oil, it could be a broken piston ring - worst case scenario of course. Then get it compression checked.

what vacume is the motor pulling on idle (thats the figure left of 0 on boost gauge) sounds like the crankcase or bottom end is not getting ventilated as said above, the reason ime asking about vac is its normaly a good indication of piston ring problems before going to the hassle of comp test

I had the same on my car, i bought a new dipstick and no problem any more (I mean it stop puling out and spraying oil all over).

But then I notice that when I do the test with boot leak detector (I have no leak) but if I pull the oil dipstick, all the pressure is release, is that normal?

you need to do a leak down test as it shouldnt be pushing the dipstick out, its usually caused by the PCV's being blocked then it cant remove the pressure from the cams which makes its way through old piston rings into the crank and once its builds up it has to come out somewhere so it can make its way up the dipstick or if your really unlucky it can blow the rear crank seal

get yourself a leak down tester, i got mine from ebay

As everyone said, try replacing the PCV valves.

That said, FunkySi had a similar problem and found out his engine was fekked

Hope it's just the PCVs mate.
