hi guys, rolling road day tomorrow, and i'm gunna tek the car in so i can get a figure before i start doing anything to it.. heres the spec so far.....

1990 TT manual conversion

14psi, boost jets and stage 2 chipped (not sure what chip tho)

street clutch

induction kit

decatted and rage back boxes

thats all i know for definite that may give me more then standard...

tickovers a bit lumpy, so theres a small chance there might be some special cams in there, but only 5% i reckon...

so, take a shot at what you think it'll produce, power to be estimated at the flywheel, i have no idea but will guess:

TonyT - 340 bhp / 300 ft/lb

all the best..

I'd say similar, 340bhp/300lbs ft. It's all dependant up engine condition though of course. If you're making really good compression and you have a slack free bottom end (ooh errr missus) then you could make more than that.

You guys are all guessing power at the wheels, not the fly...it would appear....

no worries Si, to make this fair i'll post up the RWHP (its going on a wheel dyno so this is fine) and the tuning shops ESTIMATED flywheel HP..... this should save people changing figures above..

keep em coming..

p.s. as far as i know the engine was reconditioned at ZWorld (i think) and its spot on... all work done by reputable trader known on here..

the results are in...

282 RWHP - 333 FWHP - PAULBREM wins a pint when / if i ever meet him

315 lb/ft - CYBERNETexactly right, well done...

this gives me a decent base for future bits and pieces i think... fuelling was spot on also.. boost was high, maxing out at 17psi (supposed to be 14psi) but still ok... torque was more then i thought and i'm VERY happy with this figure to be honest...

comments welcome guys, i think the next step is a straight swap for one of andys chips to replace the JWT one it has in, then another RR session to see what difference it makes...

The Flywheel power looks a bit low based on the RWHP, the correct calculations would put that more at 350bhp

Presume torque figure is at the wheels ?

Should see some nice improvements by swapping out the JWT

Loss on a RWD car should only be approx 15% maybe a little more but not much so looks spot on

Scoobies and Evos only tend to work on 25% loss with 4WD

Mike

225bhp at teh fly

Cheers Tony!

Don't know how I managed to get the torque figure wrong though   :)

myne went to dyno and i had the same value( with dead turbo!!).

But exactly the same 333FHP and 283 RWHP!

lol.. how spooky is that mate... it'll give me a good basis to start upgrading next year i think...
