auto V man

Hi there,

Not wishing to start a slagging match or anything, but I'm toying with the idea of changing my 200sx for a z. And was just wondering about the merits of the auto, eg performance, milage, costs etc..

Cheers in advance.

Have you not read the thing on the front page? NO manual v Auto. All hell brakes lose. biggrin.gif

Its what ever you are more comfortable with.

Stuart

Sorry, missed it. Consider my wrists slapped redface.gif

Oh no mate, i hope you realise that you have just lit the blue touchpaper!!! STAND WELL BACK MATE!!!!!!!! eek.gif eek.gif eek.gif

Its all personnal preference mate, i bought an auto because thats all i can drive but after having one for a while now i think i would prefer it. As i said its whatever you feel most comfortable with matey!!

I recon you should try both and see what you prefer. About fuel etc, u need to ask someone like jeff tt or andy duff (auto and manual respective!) or luke at the z-centre!

Hope this helps mate

LUKE DUKESTER

its really not a hard question to answer.

Guys buy autos because they cant get hold of a manual.

Its a sports car = manual.

seriously get a manual, they are much better cars, period.

Having just converted my auto to a manual I would like to point out that the auto is a great auto and I wouldn't hesitate to drive either. It's whatever you feel most comfortable with. Try both and make your own mind up - there is nothing intrinsically wrong with either of them.

This was the z I was thinking of, what do you think price wise?

LUKE DUKESTER RATHER BEMUSEDER

The SWB is available as a TT with Targa roof Hicas and stick shift, as a Jap import.

IMHO it's a better looking car with lighter weight and sharper handling.

The slicktop version is good for racing (better torsional rigidity), although I like my Targa tops wink.gif

p.s. Shut up zedster...you're too young and inexperienced to have a valid opinion on this subject.Stick to what you think you know i.e. bird anatomy and making cheese burgers! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Sorry Iain but Banzai is right on this point as I also have a SWB TT Manual with Targas and HICAS wink.gif

Wrong again tongue.gif biggrin.gif

Im not 100% convinced you get the TTOP Twin turbo as a Uk spec one.

As for sharper handeling, guess again Banzippy or whatever your name is.

If you as all us enthusiasts (well real 300 owners i mean lol) Actually bothered to read the book Andrew Ingram managed to find. It stated that the 2+2 was a better handeling car, in that the steering and the balance was superior to the swb car. Personlly i dont like the look of the swb version as it looks wierd, but then i guess thats personal taste.

But thats not the point here.

Auto - manual is a personal thing, depends on what you use the car for,

i have a manual because i wanted one.

Mac got an auto because he wanted one,

Banzippy has niether so hes not worth listening to biggrin.gif

besides that, any 300ZX is better than most other sh*te. And the owners are better looking, richer, have better taste and better-functioning genitalia than owners of said other sh*te.
