thats what i was thinking but if it was a battery wouldnt it just make a clicking noise for a dead battery?

LOL!-didn't realise you were in the US of A :o

Just that I've had 'Remanufactured' starters before and they have been duff!

Try another, preferably a known working one and make sure the battery is good or try another! :)

same problem with wifes maxima ..battery not enough power to get the thing started from cold .....but engine hot no bother !! .invest in a heavy duty battery ...borrow one if you can and it will prove or disprove that option .....good luck mate

Steve

That a good price for a starter ive just had to buy a new one from a local car parts shop that deals with ADL and it cost £170

Have you checked the teeth on the flywheel ? It could be u were just unlucky that the engine stopped in that exact place when you fitted your new starter.
