Oh we are including petrol and insurance?? Ok. Car Purchase Dec 2000 = £10,000

Repairs = £16,000

2 years Insurance = £1,800

Petrol = £8,000

Total = £35,800

2 years motoring = 60,000 miles

That makes it £1.70 per mile, ummmm not that bad if you drive it a lot.

Right, I use MS Money and keep track of all this crap, so these are fairly accurate figures :-

£14,000 - Bought car in Sep 1998

£ 1,300 - Alarm & ICE

£12,000 - Repairs, servicing & goodies (GPS etc)

£ 4,700 - Petrol

£ 465 - Road Tax

£ 1,787 - Insurance

I make that a total of over £34K - OUCH !

Mileage has been 28,000

I am sure that I have seen someone say that 300 owners don't spend serious money on the cars?

Please please buy it - im gettin desperate now god damit !!!

As soon as mine is run in again i'll be well up for that.......Group Rolling road session beckoning i feel!!

Paul

Bloody hell, we could have bought a formula 1 car with the amount of money spent!!

My car Silver 300zTT auto cost me £5100

Tyres (2 sets) cost about £400

Gearbox poped on the ASS (A55!)

to convert to manual cost about £750 for everything.

New AFM & HKS filter cost £280

Fuel filter cost £30.

That's a total of £6560.

That's pretty good considering I've had it for 18mths.

I'd probably still get 5K for it now that it's a manual!

Jeez.....you guys have actually made me feel better.

I paid £5,600 for UK spec. 1990 in December 2000.

Since then I've spent

£650 on service and belts

£1,100 on repair and new A/C rad.

£200 for a couple of seperate oil changes.

£70 for K & N filter

£520 for cats back S/S exhaust

£200 for a spot of rust to be removed

£700 for 6 tyres - including 2 that lasted 10 days....yes, that's TEN days....the idiots bent the anti-roll bar when they jacked the car up!!!

Petrol? Well....I'm lucky to get 20 m.p.g, but what d'ya expect?

Like the man said, if we were into economy we'd be driving Micras.

£330 for fitting a headlamp washer, new sidelight bulbs (oh, they were £20), and fitting S/S exhaust - oh, and they tell me my auto box needs overhauling - so thats £1,000 - £2,000 and one of the turbo oil seals looks like its on the way out. So, what will that be....another £1,500 for two recons??

I'm trying to find somewhere that will do it!!

But.........on the plus side, it is the greatest 'mood elevator' this side of Columbia!!

I long ago stopped kidding myself that I could use it as my 'everyday' transport....but, hell, you got to spend your money on SOMETHING...presumably you guys do get some fun out of it......

I'll let you know when mine's finished! ROFL biggrin.gif

If I calculate the average amount spent on my Z per month for the past 3 years I could have been driving around in a brand new 911 on finance including running costs etc.

No, not me.....I wanted a Z!!! What a bumer

lol anders i do feel for you.

Was just interested in seeing how much guys have spent on mods ect , not running costs, cause hell then that 911 carrera that got me thinking in the first place should be in the driveway now lol

Actually if I take off running costs and repairs it really isn't that bad. Ahhhhhh who am I kidding! I don't care what it costs me as I always wanted a Z and now I have one. No else one in my village has one, there are loads of boring "same ol same ol" Porkers around here but it the Z which is known and talked about. So what if it costs the earth and is never working perfectly. I get to drive a world beating performance car every day and to be able to do I work. Seems ok to me. This is not however going to stop me bitching when the next thing rattles, breaks, leaks or makes a weird noise. It is just my little bit towards keeping Nissan and the global economy going.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to keep Nissan going, but I'm sure Renault will do nicely out of it ! wink.gif

Shite yeah, I'm driving a french scrap not a a jap scrap now. Doesn't seem to make it any easier. Thanks

I could kill 300z for the amount of time he cost me with this q. Still, beats working! biggrin.gif

Cost £7,995

Misc (mainly ICE,alarm) £1,300

Ins £2,000

Servicing £3,400

Tyres £700

Clutch £490

Prop vibes (still going...) £545

Muffler (some of it) £520

Petrol £6,100

Total £23,045 F*** biggrin.gif

I have never spent this much on anything apart from the house.

This depressed me so I went to www.theaa.co.uk which has a "how much does it cost per mile" calculator. A typical 3 litre car should cost 81p per mile and mine is only costing 56p - result, biggrin.gif back on face. Which is nice.

Completeists can see the detail at http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~webster/costhistory.htm

You can see the ever-lengthening to-do list somwhere over there too.

Actually, I have to say, this is a bargain - still the best car I have ever had and really do NOT want to get rid. CU Saturday in Solihull.

I was going to reply this morning the answer would of been £100 to have jeff tt to inspect it and replace the brake pads but i had to get new tyres today so now its more like £500, bugger.

I'm in for a total £33526.12p over 3yrs an 39061 miles!

And not ONE performance upgrade!(except RS4 pads/groved discs) all just to keep her running, insured and full of petrol!

But for a 12 year old that can still pull an indicated 150mph+ with 4 people on the private section of the A2 I dont mind! biggrin.gif
