i had to take debz to hospital at 7am because when she woke up, her eyes had swollen so much, she could not open them.

they gave her some antihistamine tablets, they are MUCH better now, and almost back to normal, you get weaker ones from any chemist mate

My hubbie says try Zirtek

Although it doesn't 'cure' a bad reaction, eating local honey is good for building an immunity to local pollen. My missus used to get it bad but doing this seems to help quite a lot. Dave

ive had plenty of the local hunnys lol

thanks guys will try em

Cetirizine 10mg

Only thing works for me and I tried loads of different products.

I think theres a brand name for them at £7 for 7 tablets

If you ask the chemist they sell the unbranded versions that are exactly the same without the pretty colour packaging for about £4 for 30 tablets.

telfast 120's for me from the docs

I'm sure heyfever causes my right eyelid to flicker too. Always flickers this time of year.

how bads this : i have a rabbit that was a baby in september so her first summer, and we found out today she has hayfever! anyone that thinks a zed is expensive try taking a hayfeverish rabbit to the vet!!!

Hay Fever. The definitive guide.

Take a Cetirizine 10mg or a loratidine 10mg tablet EVERY day in season(not just when you feel ill) This will deal with most symptoms.

IF your eyes are still troublesome get some Sodium Cromoglycate or Otrivine - Antistin eye drops as add on therapy.

If Sneezing and nasal irritation are a problem then use a beclomethasone(Beconase) nasal spray. You NEED to use this EVERY DAY. as add on therapy. Else it DONT work.

Regular treatment is the key to success, I cant emphasise that enough.

Preventing the allergic/inflamatory reaction getting a hold is much easier than trying to suppress a full blown reaction.

Occasionally using all three above together is not enough. If this is the case you need to see your GP for further additinal/alternative treatment.

alway ask your pharmacist for unbranded generic products rather than Branded(more expensive) ones

Typical prices(basec on my outlet) are

30 cetirizine 10mg. £3.95.

30 loratidine 10mg. £3.95

Sodium cromoglycate eye drops 10 ml. £2.99

Opticrom allerg Eye drops 5ml £3.99

Otrivine Antistin Eye drops 10ml £4 ish.

Care Hay Fever relief spray(beclometha sone) £5.99 200 dose.

Beconase Spray .. £5 ...or £7 ish depending on size.

yep...beconase...best stuff ever.. couple of squirts in the nose and you're set...takes a bit of getting used to as it tastes pretty nasty

either that or move to Iceland

:)

Just to further what I said and along with Pete

Clarityn I believe is just an expensive brand name of loratine.

Zirtek is pretty packaging for Cetirizine 10mg.
