Just wondering why the boost guage on the dashboard (the standard one) has gone dead. not reading anything.

is there a pipe not connected properly?

Also it stalls when it's cold if you rev it slightly and then take your foot off.

Could be a vacuum leak, does it feel like its boosting properly? If not be take it easy as you could be running lean. Check all the vacuum pipes, esp around the balance bar area and the drivers side behind arch (boost gauge sender is there and it might just be dead).

when you say dead, is it stuck to the left or stuck in the middle?

Mine stopped working and stuck in the middle.

it's stuck on the left behind the -7 reading.

where's the balance bar? as far as i know it's boosting properly...although when i listen to the engine i could hear a slight hissing but then the fan was on quite loud so couldn't be sure. plus i'd just replaced all the cooling hoses and breather hoses so i started to tighten those up.

strange...

Balance bar is the one across the top of the engine plenum. Theres a few small hoses there that sometimes pop off.

oh, is this where you should put a manual boost controller?

oh and royal, is there anywhere near t.wells that do cambelt changes for 300's?

It's a good place to T-bar for the boost gauge/controller yes. Not sure of local garages mate as I've only been here since the start of the year and I do all my normal servicing/work myself anyhow. I am looking for a decent bodyshop to do my bumper so I'll ask about places that might do a cam-belt change. Isn't Zen garage nearish to you? Its worth finding a performance car garage instead of the average grease monkey mondeo mechanic.

I did a cambelt change on my last zed (and an engine rebuild lol) and its a reletively easy job really, but I wouldn't want to do anyone elses car other than my own as I'm no mechanic!

yeah, i spoke to mark there but they're booked up till like august! need to change the belt asap.

just found a diagram of how to install boost controller! wahey! might try it this arvo.
