Hi there,

Just got 2 new tyres fitted today 235/45 R17, fitted them no problem, I wanted the tracking done because they had gone on the inside, but they told me that because its an import, that they cant do it, which I thought was rubbish.

Started going on about the fact that Nissan never released the details for this etc etc, but surely any place should be able to do tracking, even though they are not standard sized wheels or tyres?.

Any comments?

I can understand where they are coming from bud as the machine at my place didn't have info on 300's.

Having said that tho' they can be done, just get the setting from the manual or find a more helpfull place! ;)

i belive the tracking can be done but the wear will carry on because the cambers or something can not be adjusted.unless you buy after market one that can br fitted

ive had my import laser tracked before and they had all the info on there machine. i had to have my backboxes removed though so the laser could pass. which is gonna be a pain in the arse next time cos :headvswal my rear bumpers lower than my backboxes

you can do your own alignment.measure the distances between n.side and o.side rims theymust be the same oll by 2 degrees of difference.adjust to suit.

Cheers guys for all your input, I just really wanted to make sure that it could be done, as loads of people must have had this problem in the past. I shall look for a more helpful place as mantav8 suggests.

Thanks

had mine done at kwik fit £70 had the spec's on the system and very helpful. car got a lot of attention whilst in there. even let me in the garage area while they were doin it

atferwards you get a print out showing camber tracking before and after

If it has been lowered then the tyre wear will be because the cambers are out and not because of the tracking.

I had the same problem with mine.

Have a look at this web site it explains all.

The guy that runs it sorted out the 4 wheel alignment for me.

Worth getting it checked out as yopu can go through tyres very quickly.

Darrell

Got it done on my import for £20.

Specs where on system already.

No its not lowered and yes, their does seem to be some big price differences, so what other place apart from Kwit-Fit will do this at a decent price?.
