I'm seriously thinking about binning off the bulky leather interior in favour of some lovely racing Recaros or Sparcos etc.

 

JeffTT take note mate, I heard a rumour from a friend of a friends grannys budgie that you my friend are after a cow hide interior for yours!

 

Anyway, anyone else done this? Replaced the seats I mean? If so any guidelines to follow or advice about seat pans etc. etc.

 

Shhhh, went on the Soup forum and Ibrar, one of the Soup brigade who has had a pukka Soup before but now has an even nicer one has had a lovely set of Konig Sports Recliners fitted...check it...

 

 

Nice or what? Hope he doesn't mind me showing that pic? I have mailed him anyway.

i had a set of sparco milanos on order in full suade (stopped it because of blown turbo)

these are the torino, the same seat with cloth.

 

but i have been after a set of these recaros since last october, they come standard spec on the 99 oem 300zx in japan as an option on the limited edition version.

 

Still cant find a price on them from anyone.

Nice, I've seen the SRD prices but only in dollars matey. On a few sites this morning, let me know if you want the URL's.

 

Do like them Recaros though, very nice indeedy. Sparco do some nice seats and Momo aswell. But I'm trying to find these Konigs that Ibrar has in his Soup??? Waiting for him to mail me back, can find Konig wheels but nowt about seats...feck!

 

How much do the leather seats weigh in our cars? Not on the lite bite size I shouldn't think?

 

Some of these seats weigh bugger all...should be good for another 30 bhp just sending the Z to Fat Club!!! ROFL

had a set of momo's fitted, the guy who fitted them had lots of aggravation he had to make up some subframes, Sparco and Cobra didn’t make subframes to fit a Z and Recaro are quite expensive.

First off the seats on our cars are very heavy. I think the two front seats on a z with eletric seats left and right weigh in at about 60 kilograms/(im not to sure about this)

so any way you look at it youll be losing weight in the car which is a good thing.

 

The sparco milanos, are quite easy to fit to the stock subframe runner.

 

I like those recaros because the factory fits them as stock, so they should be pretty good. (i mean our standard seats are very good seats)

 

John do you have pics of what you had done.

And im not sure who told you that sparco dont do a subframe because they do, but you can just use the subframe on the car.

Recommended seat, Motordrive FIA approved (of course) Carbon seats...these are fantastic quality, well finished and are seriously light.

you will not be dissapointed with these, proper rally equipment, not what people say are 'rally equipment' hehe.

Sparco evo are quite good too!

Warren, was doubting myself that I'd seen the Recaro SRD but I knew I definately had somewhere.

I got the seats from Carnoisseur in Southend £275 each, I left the back seats as they are because when I chuck my wheelchair in the back they get a bit ripped.

This is why I'm hoping Ibrar off the Soup forum is going to mail me back. He had the rear seats trimmed to match the fronts, but where from???

I was at one of SE open days last year, so it could have been.

I suppose if they will suply the cloth (worth asking when you buy the seats) it wouldnt cost much to get the rears trimmed at any upholstry place. After all the rear seats are pretty small.

Right, got a mail back from Ibrar last night!

 

He used a company called Evolution based in Southend, Essex. I just rang a top bloke called Jason who said that he's sending me out some info on the Konig seats.

 

He confirmed that they do the sub-frames for our cars etc.

 

He also mentioned possible discount if a few of us wanna use them.

 

Konig supplied the material for the rears on Ibrars Soup and as Paul mentioned you should be able to get that sorted at any automotive upholsterer.

 

I'm more than likely gonna go down this route now as I was more than impressed with Ibrars Supra.

 

Anyway, if any of you guys wanna ring Evolution the number is 01268 759600 and ask for Jason.

I had the drivers seat out to clean a year ago - with 3 leccy motors it weighs a ton.

Coogs mate, I'm waiting for the info to arrive from Evolution. Jason did mention a website for Konig but he said they didn't really list the full range of seats.

 

No URL for Evolution either yet, they're currently working on their website.

 

I'll let you know about prices etc. when I get the stuff through from Jason.

 

Feel free to ring Jason in the meantime though if you want more info as he's obviously keen for our business.

 

I think Ibrar said he paid about 800 for his seats, he was telling me that Konig do all sorts of extras. You can have leccy jobbies if you like but obviously the price starts to escalate.

Good effort! Jason from Evolution sent me the Konig details and pics/prices etc. Ohhhhh they are soooo nice!

 

Excellent customer service aswell, ring on Friday details arrive Saturday morning...fantastic.

 

I would strongly advise anyone interested to get in touch with Evo and get more details. These seats are gorgeous! Mad for it!
