Hi,

I got a fresh import tt and the guy who i bought it from had delimited it and had the speedo converted as he does with all the z's he sells, i took it down the motorway to test the top speed and got scared at 160 as a slight bend was coming up and i am not used to the car or 160mph the best my previos cars could manage was 140.

The z got there with no problems at all and very fast it took me by supprise how quickly it got up there i havnt had a chance to try out the top end again but does any one know what the top speed of a delimited jap import tt should be?

Cheers,

Jim

Nice of you to tell everyone that you're doing 160mph on public roads. ;)

Delimitered is about 180mph.

who said it was on public roads!

not in the uk anyway

who said it was on public roads!

You did.

My bad.

180MPH! looks like next time i visit my aunt in germany and travel down the autobahn i will have to pack a new pair of pants!

That's better.....

;)

165 was my best and tbh the car would have gave more but my bottle would not of. i think anything over 120 starts to feel scarey in any car, never been above 80 on uk motorways though as always full of other cars and bad drivers. plus i want to keep 0 points on my licence

I don't think an untuned 300 will do a real 180mph.

It might show 180 on the clocks but the real speed will be more like 160-170mph.

I did 170 on sunday,on a private road of course, just happens there was a biker on my tail too :D

ps,not anywhere near flat out ;)

Lol my tires are new on i dont think i would attempt that speed (on a private road of course) with the threads showing would make for an exspensive but spacious coffin.

The z was by no way out of pull at 160 it was still rising at the same quick rate that it had been only the strait road and my testicles were running out faster lol.

Lol where did you find a stretch of road long enough for 205 thats nuts is it modded?

In my old zed tt on a private road i got about 173mph and would of gone further but the road was coming to an end , my bro dident beleive me so i took him to the private road and showed him took it up to 170mph and he was sh**ing himself i could see out the corner of my eye his feet trying to find the breaks and his hands shaking on his lap so slowed down from the tunnel vision stage lol then he phoned his mate and shouted (guess how fast ive just been "170" "170" f**k me iam shaking)

If you get the 350zx 6 speed box and have it converted your top speed will be even higher (got one in my garage )hehe.. although you will need tuning mods to help you get there (hides gearbox out of the way of you lot )

:D Its a running joke Jim. Well it was dead until now. :D

I had my car up to 285KPH with the original dials which is about 175MPH?? @ just a tad over 6000 revs. so 180-185 MPH is a realistic top speed for a TT.

In all honesty I ran out of bottle at 173 ( gps speed )

The tyres were fine but I think I want all the suspension bushes changing before i push to that speed again...if ever

fkin ell i've done 140 145 ish and i started to shit. i just kept thinking if i get a puncture i'm dead, so i shit out.

I tell you what i find and thats when you get above 120 ish, everyhting seems to go quiet.. is it because your mind devotes all youre snsing power to your sight and ignores your ears or what? or is it simply to do with wind noise etc..

ive noticed the quiet thing myself a few times

....................

Good aerodynamics perhaps?

These cars were built for covering long distances at very high speeds afterall....

......Oh and just over 160mph in my UK spec (supposedly limited to 155). Car felt rock steady as well - much better than my Merc SLK at 120 ;)

All on this private test track I have access to, of course. Officer :x:

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

LOL @ the 120 quite-thang- been there too.

I've also been pulled-out-infront-of at 120 by someone doing 50-60. Brown adrenaline, plus a good case study why TVR should put ABS in as standard (well they didn't the last time I checked, dunno if they do yet...)

one thing ive noticed when u get over 140 in a car is how much your hands start hurting from gripping the wheel so feckin hard! and the inevitable shaking when u finaly come to a stop somewhere! but that was in my s13, things got very very scary at that kind of speed as it shook like fook and i didnt know much about cars then so i had shitty tires and bust suspension. god knows how i didnt lose it! yet to see what my zed will top end at.............

Still no ABS on TVR's

thats the other funny thing, as scoops said u get to over 130 or so and think 'if i have a blowout im dead' which is quite stupid coz its fairly safe to say if u have a blow out at over a 100 your pretty likely to lose it! funny how the human brain thinks!
