Hi All.

oh s**t ,went past a plain cop car with a night time lazer last night at

112mph ,lucky it wasnt 2 miles earlier but anyway,I,m nicked, when pc bad attitude had finished his hypocritical little lecture he informs me I,m not getting a fixed penalty but am going to court and will get banned.

In my defence I showed him my speedo has just bust,it was a totaly empty

dual carrageway at 12.30 at night and if I loose my licence as a hgv driver

I will loose my job,did it help,NO.

What do you think licence lost or not, with a brief and lots of pleading?

without fail a ban, likely to have a resit test too as the speed is well over 100mph and on a 60,mph road too.

sorry mate, your looking at a minimum 1 yr ban too with a great possibility of longer

Whoops! ' sorry guvnor its a Zed, thought I was going at 55mph, honest guvnor'. Unlucky mate, I'm sure there are many people on here who could have been in the same position. I used to always travel at night, its easy and enjoyable to 'test' the car a bit when there's no traffic about. Hope it isn't too bad but reckon you'll be very lucky if you get away from that without a ban.

Dave

Not supprised he had a bad attitude. I'm sure as most police have experienced, he's seen his far share of horrific crashes which were the result of speeding....and 112mph isn't slow is it.

We've all done it though.

Good luck though.

Oh S**t doesnt look good then, but I know a local guy who got caught doing 106mph and got of with a two week ban because the beak didnt want to put him on the dole.

If however you were a copper, then you could easily do another 30mph and get off with a commendation for contribution to road test data...makes me maaaaaaaad!!!!

Really wanna test my top speed now that my Z'ed's got a new Upgraded ECU and De-restricted from 165MPH.... I'll wait to do it on the rollers next month, at least I won't get nicked that way... :hyper:

Have they introduced speed limits relative to time of day, drivers occupation and amount of traffic now?

its worth arguing that if you lose your license you loose your job your off to court anyway.ive helped get 2 drivers off a ban (was for totting not doin 112) on these grounds not only because they would loose there jobs but it would also damage my bussiness .seek legal advice u may land lucky 10 points large fine etc try to get someone at work onside willing to make a statement cpc holder director etc good luck :)

Cant have been totally empty if you passed a copper :p

What happened if you had a blow out or something had pulled out onto the road? As much as it seems silly, and I'm not wanting to be a killjoy, rules are rules.

I once got done on the bike for 82 in a 70. It was midnight on the M25 and I was the only fooker on it. The cop came off the slip road and did me for 82...I told him to get a job he liked...lol

How is stopping someone for speeding at 112mph a killjoy?

http://www.speed-trap.co.uk/

check this site out, theres real world cases and the penalties they got and how to defend your case, its a must site for those of us who like going fast.. !!

HTH and good luck ( I once got off with 6 points and £150 fine for doing 99.69mph in a 60mph zone )

Andy..

i thought they had to have followed u for a set period of time speeding, or was it a speed gun? did u admit to it at the scene? best bet would of been total deny it, as those speed guns are in accurate as fook. good luck with court, although everyone probably has to agree its silly going that speed, weve all done it, and the rest.....

Living life on a what if would be very boring now wouldnt it.

Oh of course. But they are the law's excuse....not mine. Personally, I don't think it's that bad a deal with respect to the circumstance. But you can't expect to just get away with things if you're pulled over for doing 100mph+
