After discovering a major problem with my beloved yellow sub, i have been left with no alternative! It is up for sale! So, obviously I'm looking for another! If anyone has one for sale, please please get in touch! I'm not to bothered whether its a TT or NA, would love a shorty, but not set in stone, must be a targa though, not a slick top! Bodywork doesn't have to be immaculate, but engine has to be a good en! I have a limited budget at the moment, probably stretch to £3000, after chucking so much cash at the yellow sub!

Oh, its a turbo gone by the way, i think! Its misfiring slightly, although it still runs at full boost??????????? If anyone knows any different and wants to buy it, PM me with an offer! Or let me know what they think the problem is!

Blimey that didn't last long mate! Why don't you get the tubs done instead of buying another or does yours need loads of other work doing?

Problem i've got is, i'm not sure it is the turbo! Might just be the timing, who knows! How much am i looking at to get turbos done?

£1500 i was quote for uprated tubs with 360 bearings and all the PCV valves etc. Thats fitted by the way.

ECU throwing up any error codes? Does it misfire everytime you drive it? Hard driving / soft driving... any difference in what it does? Does it misfire when cold and warm?

 

I suggest checking the plugs and the coils if you can be bothered. Use some incentive juice :duffer: and check the basic..... unless you've done that already... :)

 

Get it sorted. Seems like you have a nice car. Least you know what car you have at the end of being fixed imo... again unless you've got other probs you're not telling us? ;) :nono: :)

No boost or smoke are turbo failure.

 

It will be an Ignition or fuelling problem.

 

Do an ECU test. Clean connectors..etc

 

Give us more info on the symptons

Problem is, i'm far from a mechanic! Wouldn't know where to start lookin for which connectors to clean or how to test the ECU, its a Mines one! There is zero smoke and still runs full boost! It misfires at idle and low revs, but still pulls just as strong as it did before! Hot or cold, its the same! I really want to fix it, and I REALLY want to keep it, but can't afford to have it fixed at the minute! I've had a really quick look and there appears to be oil in the pipes where the left boost jet is! Right side is dry!

link on how to do the ecu test, easy mate. there's loads you can check to find out what's wrong with your zed, not rocket science either.

Christ, get it checked out. If it's something simple, then you're throwing a working car down the pan in effect.

 

Would still be cheaper to replace bits than buy another zed where the problem may happen again.
