I expect the black glue stuff on the bodyshell has hardened. Take them out and soften all the black glue stuff with heat from something like a hairdryer, then try refitting.

As Legrath says. Take them out, get the hair drier on them and the metal work, warm both areas up and refit. Take your time screwing back on the bolts and just keep going round gradually and evenly tighten them up. It will pull the lights back into place slowly. But be patient.

Not as bad as mine were

The other thing to consider is, are you sure that the lenses are sitting properly in the backing plates? As, again, you'll have to take them back out, heat them up and try to push them together more.

I scraped off as much of the black goo as poss, cut up some old vacuum tube and pressed it into place onto what little black goo remains, then screwed them back on the car. Seems to be doing ok so far, and is hopefully watertight! And should be easier to remove the lights in the future.

pmsl@Dave, what did you do mate - forget to take em out the oven :)
