oil leak!

hi guys, just found out my cars got hardly any oil in it!!! :headvswal had a look underneath it and oil is dripping off what looks like a pump of some sort? its on the left side (as you look at the car) inbetween the downpipe and the bell housing.right by the oil filter.its got a sorta heatshield over it.

does anyone know what this is?? or got a schematic of the underside of the car i could look at please?

any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

the starter you mean ?

I doubt that's the one leaking ;)

most common oil leaks are : rear and front main crank seals, turbo oil feeds, oilfilter bracket and rocker covers (exhaust side).

Mine is leaking from the rear crank seak and the oil drips down the bell housing. Its a gearbox out job.

think mines leaking from there too, then when i drive it the wind blows the oil onto everything. its going to the zen center soon to have the manual put in (when i get a bit more money) so i guess i'll get it sorted then. i'm fed up with having my face pressed against the underside of my car for now.i'm all out of enthusiasm!!
