£2995 ono. Just called. Tis cheap. Can't believe how much more Manual versions go for. The same car if manual with that mileage would expect £4k+ I would have thought.

bloody hell.

thank fook its a typing mistake...

hey BTW gaz.. your not that far away mate... if you ever fancy meeting up.. or know of any local cruises.. let me know.

Hi Gaz,

Get ya name & details down in the NE section mate.

PS. Sorry to hyjack your thread :x:

autos are so weak on jap imports had mine been manual i probably would still have had it now

I can't believe how cheap there getting, as this rate bt the end of the year you will be able to pick one up for £1500.

Always cheaper during winter months, the whole used car market is in a slump right now.

You can, but it would be an utter dog. The average price of a zed does not reflect the going rate for a good Manual TT.

1990 j spec auto 115000 km on the clock tt veilside body kit, trust cat back zorsts, imaculate underneath and engine bay a few small marks on body work and front spoiler broken £900 plus £300 for replacement front spoiler and £30 for steering columb u/j thats all i needed to spend to get my z, ok so ive bought a new set of 18" wheels and a set of stainless decat pipes and a jwt chip for it but wheels that wre on it were in good nick just didnt like the style so i still havn,t broken the 2 grand mark and ive got a great z to play with.

Even so the price seems to be dropping out of the bottom of them ?

I work in the industry and have done forever.

There are seasons that affect cars ie Cabriolets cheap in winter etc

but the Z seems to be in steady decline regardless of model or time of year.

The only ones that will be worth having will be un molested slick top manual versions

I think there are too many coming into the country and thats bringing the value down. One thing I can say is thats the guy I bought mine from and he seems to get good ones.

Yes, its becuase of all the poor condition Imports coming over. If you take a look at half of those for sale, they are dogs, and they bring down the prices of the decent examples.

Some may get lucky and buy a decent example under £3k, but still looking at £4k+ for tidy looked after examples, and Dealers are still asking and getting £5k+

A slicktop Manual will command a higher price because of their rareity, but its the 2+2 TT Manuals that are still the most sought after.

Quite a few modified examples have sold for £7k-£10k in the past year.

I agree to a point. There aren't that many coming over in comparison to other models/marques. I do agree in the fact that a lot of the imports that come over here are utter hounds and just not really a good thing.

I don't think the prices have changed dramatically over the past 4 or 5 years. I remember when I first started getting interested in purchasing a Zed, I was still seeing them go for about £3k to £4k and decent ones going for £5k - £6k.

awwww m8 sure you will get another.... there is a white TT for sale near me in hull... from a dealer.... he wants about 3k.. but i bet you could easily talk him down as he hasnt sold it in some time... worth a look.... but its a auto... if thats ok.

anyway you got my number... if your interested let me know.. will take you there..

I think i got a load of car for spending £6000 on my import SWB TT ZX. I am glad they are so cheap to buy to say a Supra and MR2's (bleugh!)

But as said its a huge false economy getting a pretty looking ZX for £2000 from a small main road garage that needs more fixing than the space shuttle.

Yeah, if not well looked after they're *very* expensive to put right. Worth spending a bit more for a decent one IMO, although there are one or two on here who've been lucky enough to pick up real bargains.

yea 6 years ago i got my first and they were the car to have,it seems the prices have gone down because there is a lot more choice in the jap super car field now, the lads who had the zx,s now want skylines, evo,s and wrx,s and like anything thats cool soon falls to the wayside when something cooler hits the streets :( the ironic thing is we all sing the praisers for the 300zx then go and spend thousands making it look something else :headvswal

I'd sooner have a Zed than a Scooby or Evo. In all honesty, can anyone find either of those cars attractive? Sure they are good fun etc...but they are just saloon cars with ungainly bodykits.

As far as I can see the prices seem to still be between £2500 and £5500 Like funky Si said, depending on condition etc. some make more because they are exceptional and some less because they are skips. I paid £4500 for my 54.000 Kms TT last year and If I sold it now I cant see it being worth any less?

Brian answer yer hotmail

Its not just Zeds that are suffering. I know a guy who bought the low spec Skyline from a dealer for £10K and he really looked after. After 2 years he wanted to buy a house and was asking silly money for, so it did not sell. His missus got pregnant so the house purchase became urgent, and he went back to the import dealer he bought it from. They said the max they would offer was £2K because that is what they could now get them for. He was gutted. He sold it through Autotrader for £3400.
