I went to a cash point today and there was no where to park in the cash point car park so I parked in a car park directly opposite, as the cash point was 15' away from the car so I quickly walked to the cash point got money walked backed to the car and in the space of about 3 mins max a clamper was parked behind my car smiling saying I have clamped you and its going to cost you £70 to take it off :( I kept on saying I have only been gone 3 minutes etc, but no he would not take it off so I spent £70 parking for 3 minutes. He did say I could write to the address on the bottom of the reciept and appeal, which I have done but FFS :(

Also the time it took him to take it off is about the time it took me to get the cash out, which suggests he was parked somewhere waiting and clamped me as soon as he saw me walk off.

Complete :xxx:

Once saw some one smash a clamper over the head with a Snow Shovel

Now I'm not recommending that but god did I laugh

Thank fook for no clampers neare me..

It sucks.. and I hate them... and there familys.. and there animals... and the places they go... they suck..

Ok over dramatic.. but that really sucks bud.

I remember reading an article that was saying that clampers can no longer just clamp vehicles on there property, but instead need a license aswell as the property...

Don't know if you could ask to see there license?

There are certain jobs I would never do through principal, clamping and operating a mobile speed camera are the main two, utter scum, how can anyone do such a job. And if anyone reads this that does one of those jobs tough.

Fooking w@nkers the lot of 'em! :xxx:

That's one 'business' that should be outlawed!!!!

keep a set of bolt cutters in your boot.. and cut the thing off in front of em and them tell em you are going to sue them for interfering with the operation of a private motor vehicle, in such a way as to render it unsafe for use.

The bloke who clamped my car also looked like he does door work as well :( And the clamp he used was a Heavy duty jobby not a chain type one. :( Hardened steel.

Yep that what I mean, its the usual case

Hence the Snow Shovel Incident :D

That's not a real problem for PK!

If you can afford to walk away and come back at night next time...go hire a petrol driven disc cutter from a tool hire shop and drop the clamp where the car was after dark.. ;)

He was only going to give me a few hours to raise the money before they towed it to an impound lot in Bristol where it would have cost me a lot more to get it back. :( And as this happened at 11.44 am I would have to cut it off in daylight.

i know this dont help but if it happens again go find a goldfish or similar from a pet shop and place in side the car then they are not allowed to move the car without breaking the law

fvk the gold fish, how about a mad rabid pit bull :) would you get in the car to move it?

dosnt matter wot pet it is they cant move the vehicle if there is something/anything alive in the vehicle

im probably wrong, but i saw that bayliffs program the other night , and they threatend the bloke they would still take the car with him init , as it wasnt iliegal anymore, he was sitting in car and they had clamped it awaiting for lorry , ps not arguing ,,just doing me mr chips , say what you see,

I hate the f*ckers, I've got plans for some down in cornwall if I get a chance. They've really started taking the p*ss over the last few years. £60 parking fines for locals when the average wage down there is less than £150. So many people have been writing into the local papers and council over miss-treatment by the clampers.

shit luck speedemon. Pk's idea is great. Never been clamped, but if I ever do , no-one will hold me back from the ***** , no matter how big and tough looking they are with their little willies.

The companies who operate, and the people who take the job are the lowest lifeforms on the planet. they deserve horrible things to happen to them.

Were there any signs about? There are strict laws for clampers to abide by. Check the area out again and take photo's if there are a lack of signs and then go to the CAB. They will point you in the right direction.

You did the right thing because a woman who I work with went back to Germany for Christmas. She parked her VW(registered in Germany) car by John Lennon airport only to find it gone when she came back. Apparently some private company working on behalf of the DVLA took it and because it came back as having no insurance (which it would because it was registered in another country FFS) they took it away. When she eventually found out which pr1cks had taken it, she went to the yard only to find the cylinder head missing and all the glass gone. They of course denied all knowledge. The government think they're clever allowing 3rd parties access to PNC data to "clamp down" on petty parking violations but it is now WIDE open to abuse so be careful.

This happened to someone on here too but his car "got crushed" before he could collect it (allegedly  ). Once it goes to a yard, your dealing with a bunch of crooks but if you're certain they won't tow it away then the grinder is the best option, followed by returning the clamp via their windscreen :xxx:
