Well, i got a phonecall from my solicitor this morning regarding a tomogram (ancient CT scan) i had about 4 months ago.

Not long after the tomogram my surgeon asked me to go and see him for a meeting, so obviously i did, he explained to me then that the bone grafts hadnt done what they were supposed to of and knitted the bones together, but he said that another larger bone graft would work (after taking most of the old bone out again). Needless to say, i was unhappy about this, but hey, if he says it can be done then so be it.

I was asked by my solicitor to go to a independant surgeon, so, i went, he had all my notes incuding the tomogram x-rays and all my previous x-rays. He did the examination and sent me on my way.

This morning, as said, i got a phonecall from my solicitor and he basically said what i was expecting him to say, he recieved the indepentant surgeon's report yesterday and it was saying that the bone grafts i had hadnt knitted and any other bone graft/surgery wouldnt knit together either. So, cut a long story short, it's looking like it'll be loosing a bit of weight aroung the left leg region LOL, which TBH i was expecting anyway.

I dont want sympathy, ive been waiting for this phonecall for a while now, so i didnt really suprise or upset me. I just thought id let you all know, ready to get the jokes/photoshops sorted for when the deed is done :D

I have no idea when i'm going in, i think the 2 surgeons have to discuss bits 'n' bobs first, but i'll call the hossy tomorrow to see if i can find out anything.

Thanks guys

Rich

Jeez mate, what can I say?!? You know where I am if you want a mate.

Anyway, you know not to expect any sympathy from me don't ya - it's not my style ;):D

Hehe, no seriously, BIG respect for the way you're handling it, - call me anytime dude.

Sorry to hear that mate its never good news when you hear you leg has to come off.

How ever you do know that you will be walking on your own in no time, remember that guy at TOTB? Look on the bright side mate its going to be a god send to get rid of that bloody chair ;)

Fingers crossed all goes well.

Its a shame you have spent so long in the chair and gone through all that treatment for it not to work but i suppose you do have to try first.

Chin up bud this means you will soon be up and mobile enough to have a swim in the paddling pool at JAE.

All the best mate

Paul

Damn Rich, I'm sorry to hear that. Rotten luck even if you have been expecting it.

A mate lost his leg a few years ago (in a bike crash). He's got an amazing carbon fibre one now with little motors in it and stuff. He walks well, and rides a bike fine (far better than me).

Any like the guys say, big respect for handling it all so well.

Geez, the lengths people will go to to lose some weight ! ;)

Still, it won't be all bad, whatever you end up with is gonna work better than what you have now and if you turn gay (what am I saying turn  ) then you can go and chat up Paul McCartney - he obviously has a thing about that .... :)

i think a few people have said it already but you are a trooper mate  and these things happen for a reason. (cant think of any reason for it to happen to such a top bloke !!)

Perhaps it will become apparent when the time comes but for now if ya need anything buddy i think you,ll have a few members to help, me included...............now i,m not giving sympathy just helping a fellow member although those breast implants........????? ;) :x:

:x: look we all know you just prefer auto`s but dont want to admit it :x:

In life i never take nothing too seriously, albeit this is a more serious life changing situation than most, but as said, ive been awaiting this to happen for a while anyway.

Big thanks for all the offers and a HUGE thanks for the PM's and phonecalls aswell

Rich
