There's no way the government will give way to fuel protesters, if they did that then the country would be brought to it's knees on a regular basis as is the case in France!

And whats wrong with that?

France has a better health service, better standard of living (I think) and they will not be trodden on by the government. They do not put up with mass redundancies when a company says its going to another country, (like we do). More power to the people is what the French have and I am all for it.

............

Thats funny Paul. I was on my way home from Manchester this morning and thinking.......

" Fook Optimax? It'll be cheaper to run on Pepsimax soon"?

didn't take this too much notice of this thread till we got faxes from all our UK suppliers today warning of major problems with deliveries in the coming weeks. Hope it does good for you guys. My next door neighbour is shopping around for better fuel prices in his fiesta.............. Now that's bad :(

Need to do more than a fuel blockade. I drive a van for a living and i know work are making as many cut backs as possible cos of fuel prices. Blockading alone is'nt enough we all need to down tools for a week see how much the gov loses out on when no one fills there vehicles for a week then they'll have to do something about it!!!!!!!! :smash: :smash: :smash:

I own my own haulage company not that big only 30 or so lorrys. Every month my fuel bill is between £50,000 and £75,000 so when the fuel goes up it really f***s me off.If every car and lorry driver in the country just parked their vehivles up for one week and didnt go to work the government would loose so much money the would have to lower prices.

looks like eveyones Z will be off the road soon then

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! just had a horrible thought.......diesel Zeds!!!!

I am buying Super Unleaded at 99.9, whiich is only 4 ppl more now than normal unleaded, almost seems good value

what are the implications of running the zed on gas? Is there a large drop in performance and engine life or anything horrific like that?

I say yes to the protests but overall I think it will have little or no impact. What this government should do is completely review the whole state benefit system, it is supposed to supoort people who cant work and not be a choice for people to take up benefits and never work. Its unsustainable and heading for a fall. I say lucky you to all you 40 and 50 somethings out there that may see the last scraps of pension when you are older. Im a 20 something and wont see sh%t. I will pay £1000's in and get nothing out. I live as a reasonable citizen paying my way trying to work hard and earn a living whilst other people chose not to work and get quite a lot for free, or enough free time so they can earn money on the side and have quite a nice life thankyou while honest people work all week and take home the same or very little more. This country SUX. If you work hard or have a business then the government only tax your ass so you cant win either way. Take a look every problem lies in the fact that there is little or no social responsibility, people are just satisfied to take take take, but do I blame them? No I blame the government for letting them do that. Its the system thats to fault not the people who will inevitabaly always play it if they can! Im sad to say I dont think it will ever get any better as what government would change the benefits system now? No governemnt there are too many voting non tax payers out there who they need to be in power...GGRRRRR I have had my moan today now that feels better.

Forget the fuel prices, dont worry buy petrol for your Z while you can, enjoy life while you can, you never know what's around the corner....

I think people who have never worked and are on JSA should not be allowed to vote then! Or people who are abusing the system, i.e. those who have been on benefits for more than 18 months with no excuse. No vote, no healthcare, no schooling, no nothing and then see who "can't" get a job? :xxx:

Well, as I am self employed and reliant on driving a lot of miles to get to jobs, these protests stand to lose me a LOT of money this week (I'm talking in excess of £500:(). In turn, this could possibly mean that my bills don't get paid on time or I have to borrow some money to keep everything ticking over (which I'd then have to pay back at a poo rate).

And what is this gonna achieve in the long run.

Feck all I reckon.

So no, I don't support the protests.

I'm going to sulk now for the rest of the day.

:p

the sad and ironic part of this is the people who complain including me about the price of the fuel (ime self-employed also) when its starting to get a bit thin on the ground and the forcourts start getting coned off the price of the bastid stuff does,nt matter, you just gotta have it or no work,no shoping,no school for the kids, and thats before foodstuffs start getting depleted after fuvkin mrs smith has just panic bought 25 loafs of bread or mr knobhead has loaded 2 tonne of beans into his mondeo estate,so yea go and shiit on gordon browns door step, moan about the price of unleaded, but the brutal truth is while we have mrs smith and mr knobhead we have no power to keep browns door step full of shite :headvswal :headvswal

they've mentioned on the news that they are not going to block the refineries, so what are they going to do???

Well so much for fuel protestors, apparently only two people attended the Fawley refinery! The only thing achieved by this threat was panic buying, an average 2p per litre increase in pump prices and increased profits for service stations. Well done everyone!

Plus what about the extra expenditure by local authorities to pllice these protests. Tax goes towrds this, so ultimately too many protests and up goes government expenditure and hey presto so does tax!

Dig one up! But i cant be arsed to vote, whoever i vote for is gonna shaft me so i dont see the point. Whether Tony Blair or the new leader of the conservatives penetrate my asshole i'm ****ed, so who cares? Think we should give them all AIDS then they can sing "everyone has AIDS"

Yampi mate I agree 100% with ya , but lets face facts here irrespective of the protest this fooking crumbsnatching government WILL incresse road taxes , WILL continue its programme for expanding congestion charges to virtually every town in the fookin country , WILL stick fooking speed cameras anywhere a buck can be earnt , and WILL still introduce fooking pay as you go charges to use badly maintained roads , so lets have another go but not leave it to the hauliers and farmers to do our dirty work for us lets all have a go cuz it looks to me as if the only backbone left in this fooking place is stil the M1...........I vote yes by the way
