Everyone must have a favourite stretch of road they love to have a blast on. Mine has always been the on the A38 between Plymouth and Trerulefoot in Cornwall for those of you who know it.

Think I've found a new favourite now though. Just spent the last week driving round the Rocky mountains and the Icefield parkway is just breathtaking! 400km of amazing roads! Pictures speak for themselves!

Some gorgeous views there mate, looks good for some slow cuising with the mrs or high speed thrashing through the mountains !

B6047 between Market Harborough and Melton Mowbray!!

Great in a car, amazing on a bike!!

Them roads look like they would be.....

But I aint got any in this country. they are all cr4p mate. But I do love the smoothness of the A16 between Calais and Veurne. Them french have got it so good with their transport systems public and all.

Turn off A47, head towards Tilton-on-the-Hill, then on to Oakham. The route's got everything - hills and dips, tight bends, long straights, sudden drops - everything Tommi Makkinen would wish for (except his Evo 6 back :D ).

Mine has to be the either B3314 between Delabole and Wadebridge in Cornwall or the B6255 between Ingleton and Hawes on North Yorks.

Great fun in the Z and nearly always empty. If not there are plenty of decent overtaking spots.

For straight line fun then the A41 between Hemel Hempstead and Aylesbury, usually quiet during the day and great for hitting the speed limiter :x:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

or you could just send an email to the police telling them where and when to catch you...DOH :headvswal

Cornwall is full of great roads. I miss going down to Haylin bay every weekend to the Caravan. Cornwall is not over crowded like most places in the UK, unless its bank holiday and then its total gridlock and full of northern Monkeys :D

True, I only ever visit in June or January. Julia has a mate in Camelford and she says the for he whole of August the roads are packed with slow tourists in Mondeos towing caravans :headvswal

It's getting more popular out of season now though with various TV series like Doc Martin and A Seaside Parish.

going up and down hartside in cumbria, between penrith and alston, fookin amazing! hairpin after hairpin! quality. best drivers road in the country

The stretch of road from Trevemper Bridge, Newquay via Rejerrah Dipper to Goonhavern.

Or the M69.

Have to agree with Cornwall, there are some fantastic roads there, long winding twisty roads with low hedgelines where you can see ahead of you for miles.

There are also a lot of narrow twisty blind roads in cornwall that are horrible to drive round too.

I rarely make note of roads names though, so could'nt actually tell you which ones. :headvswal

Not sure any of my favourite roads are in this country. Most are in France. French roads are ace and generally very smooth. :)

The famous " MAD MILE " on the A217 between sutton and reigate!! Some excellent roundabouts too !!!
