Hi all,

I replaced my battery last year with a nice Bosch one but recently have found that it is draining within 4 days if the car is not driven. Yesterday, I got a flat and within an hour, the battery was flat (I had the ignition on without the engine turning). Surely that doesn't sound right?? Any ideas if it's just a dodgy battery or could it be something else?

Cheers

Is your battery still fitted in the proper Nissan container with the insulation in the sides? If not the heat from the turbos can cook em in a year or two. They really need the heat shielding

no insulation or container, I think I threw them away recently. The thing is I jumped the car earlier and let it idle for about 20 mins. It re-started 4 hours later with no probs - should it have???

I have this same problem at the moment. Car is off the road currently anyway while I do some other stuff to it anyway(oil, coolant, aiv's, headlight cleaning, rad hard pipes..etc), but will be testing it its current drain with a multimeter, and then pulling fuses to find the culprit.

Co-incidence I also have Speedo/speed sensor problems at the moment too

mine's a UK so no speedo converter. I brought back the battery to Costco who happily swapped it - no problems since.
