I'm keen on getting tints done... What should I expect to pay for a good job and I was also wondering whether it would affect my insurance / road legality.

Depends on what sort of day they are having.

Iwork at a police college and my zed is seen

and they allways stop and talk about her

but no ones ever mentioned the tints

It had my old car tinted by Gatwick Autoshades and it set me back £350.00. The job was really good and I think you get for what you pay for!

Exotic cars tend not to be frowned on as much with respect to tints. It's younguns driving around in their Saxos with binliner tints that get up their noses.

 

I shall be going for the lightest tint available when I get my zed.

 

As for the price, erm, 10 - 20 is rather optimistic. More like 150 - 200 for a decent job.

Gatwick Auto Shades are the best around. Best tinter in the UK for the 6year i think.

 

Had mine done by them and it was a quality job.

depends where you live got two £30 tickets within in 2 wks of each other front tints have now been removed

I got it into my head couple of months ago tints would look great, so I paid 200 quid for the back window/ sides done. :nono: ............ PIMPMOBILEhated it after a week. top job done, but just made the car look cheap. I've taken it off the sides but left it on the back window.

 

I think it looks great on silver, but red :eek: .. definitely not for me.

Tints look great on black Zeds.

 

it is my personal opinion that a light tint gives a much better look...

mine has just been quoted for tinting... it is the heat shrink stuff.. (top of the line) not the normal halfords crap...

cost... well just under.. 500£

not cheap but you get what you pay for.

oh for sure do the rear this is essential as the car sits low and every bloody headlight shines right in the back...sides are a bit OTT IMHO .....(except back/rear quarters)...as for £20...i think a 0 is missing there..:D
