Featured Replies

do a search on it mate hundreds of threads and loads of debates...i have an na so not that relevent but i use magnetec 10w 40

yer...there is some debate over the viscosity needed for the TT but I use Millers 10W60 for my TT recommended by an engine rebuilder...as above ...do a search...lots of veiws

I use magnatec 10/40 in my TT and it has been used on this for many years by me and previous owners and car runs like a dream.

CHEERS FOR THE ADVICE.

I have heared and been recommended before that both the Millars is good and Magnatec - Where is the best place to order either from?

Out of the 2 what is the vote in favour of?

Rob

Bloody Hell! Here we go again!! Use Millers XSS it's the *****x!!! (Ask OilMan!) 10-40w for you matey.. Fully Synthetic if your engine has less than 100,000Miles on it or Semi-Synthetic for 100,000 + ...

I'll go for the Millers then.

One more oil related question. What should my oil gauge read whilst driving and stationary...

Cheers

It's all to do with the amount of oil pressure the engine has actually got. when driving hard or accelerating you will notice the guage rise. when at idle it will read quiet low. This is normal though so don't worry!

Is constantly halfway across the oil guage - reading a 4 - is this normal??

Zed gauges are rubbish, mine goes from really low to over half way whenever its in the mood! Getting an aftermarket fitted hopefully next week if Chris Greddy gets them in, or anyone else for that matter as the cars already booked in.

Dave

Shall I ignore it then????

Doing My Interior this month - Any Ideas on how much they cost?? Where I can Get One From??

Also After a turbo dial and a couple of other dials to put into a pillar pod...

What would you recommend????

Take Daves advice dude, standard guages a rubbish!!! Best thing to do is get a 2 or 3 pillar A Pod from Z Centre and get a boost, oil, and water dial. Boost & Oil Pressure most important though!!

In the process of doing my A-Pillar at the moment had to take it out of the garage pending arrival of a correct gauge. Got mine from Chris Greddy roughly £120 a piece depending on gauge. But best to pm Chris rather than pay on the website as he might not have them in stock and you'll be waiting around for them. Worth paying money for good ones as the cheap ones are pretty poor and look cheap. The dials ping around like a cheap toy, plus cheap ones probably arn't any more accurate than the stock gauges. If you do the oil pressure then consider an adapter plate to go between the filter and sump. This will give you holes for oil temp and/or pressure gauges rather than drilling or whatever (DON'T buy the ac adapter as it doesn't fit the zx). Adapters are also available for coolant hose at front of engine for temp gauge which is also recommended.

I personnally think its money well spent as I drive the car hard and would prioritise spending money on keeping it safe and in good order than on shiny bits (although they're good too!) :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
