Given the choise where would you chose to immigrate? Just currious as i've just done it.

Moving to Canada is the best thing I've ever done, be happy here for a few a years here and then maybee Australia? I do love the UK although lots of things about it frustrate me nowadays!! I will come back to live there one day!

Italy for me. The weather, the food, The culture and the ladies are so much better than the UK. The Italians are just so laid back and happy. Also the roads are fantastico.

Yep so I won't feel out of place + my mothers family are from just between Garda and Bardalina right by the lake.

Never been to Canada yet though I've been invited to go this winter Skiing. So I'm hoping to get there in about 5 to 6 months from now.

At the Moment I'm in Winnipeg (central Canada). but will be moving to Vancouver Island next april. Absolutly beautifull there! I was in whistler last year skiing. All I can say is Amazing! hope you enjoy it

Back to to Hollywood for me. Spent 4 years in total in California. Fookin p*ssed off with how much it costs to live here. When the kids grow up a bit more then its ta ta to overpriced, overrated, squibby little island in the cold!!!

We often talk about New Zealand or Australia. Mainly because of the overcrowding and prices here. Surfs good, plenty of room to keep horses, reasonable house prices and beautiful scenery. The only thing that would keep me here is the fact that the UK is such a hub for everything that is going on in the world (for good or bad I guess), and the family are here to.

One cottage on the West Coast of Scotland or a Scottish island and another in Cornwall or Devon. I would spend 4 months in one then 4 months travelling in a campervan and then 4 months in the other.

Alternatively a lakeshore house in Toronto would be nice

It is difficult leaving family and friends behind but the world is such a small place nowadays in the jet set age. I can get back to Plymouth from Winnipeg in 10 hours door to door, and if you fly at the right times only costs 250 pounds return! would take me just as long to get back from Scotland! (cost me more in petrol in the Z aswell) I'll be back at least 4 times a year.

You could buy a Detached 4 bed house with a double garrage and a swimming pool next to a lake near Toronto for 120K. Crazy

Yeah fair one mate. I do quite a lot of travelling now, its amazing how small the world has become. I'd like us to do an extended tour of all the places we like the sound of. Not travelling and roughing as I've done enough of that, just going somewhere and working for six months then moving on when we feel like it until we found where we want to stay. Only problem now is we are both animals lovers and already have a horse (with another possibly on its way for me ,my missus does natural horsemanship/management). Then there's dogs, cats, chickens, ducks,.......the list goes on LOL all possible as we'd like to be self sufficient and grow our own food (don't eat dogs and cats by the way). None of it helps with travel, at least I don't have a mortgage. We'll have to see when I get out of the forces I guess. Will be nice to just chill in one place for a few years ,till my feet get itchy again!

Any spare rooms in Canada? lol wouldn't mind a holiday where I can dust off my snowboard. It hasnt come out of the bag since I got it in Norway 4yrs ago!

Would have to be canada for me mate. Ive got family there (My Grandad's brother) and they came back to the UK for 5 years. They then went back to canada after that bacause this country is shite!

I am seriously thinking about moving tho so any details, help or details of consultants that helped you used would be great.

Every house in Canada has spare rooms! no such thing as small housing out here. If you Fancy a bit of planking i'll be heading off to Whistler in Jan. Should be a laugh!

hi Pete

Before I rattle off too much information are you thinking of bringing a family or doing by yourself?

Andy

Funny you should make that remark as the board and bag actually came back with a stuffed otter in it that was spoils from a particuarly wretched night out. We all went into a pub and it had stuffed animals all over the walls. We managed to get nearly every one of them! It's still at 42commando in Plymouth on display with various other 'spoils of war'!

One of the nicest places I've ever been to....and I've been to a lot of countries. Is a place in Georgia (USA) called Savannah and it's small coastal resort of Tybee Island.

Could have stopped there forever. Never been so chilled out.

I'd like to explore the USA and Canada a bit. My missus studied horse whispering and wild horses over there and is looking at going back to do shoeless hoof management. I'd like to check out the surf. I find that people's general (and often but not always true) opinions of yanks makes you forget how amazing the country is. Plus the yanks are the best hosts I've ever known, completely accomodating in their over the top way. What are the Canadians like to the British?

Being an Ex commonwealth the Canadians Love the Brits. They are a very friendly bunch always asking questions about the queens great nation.

When I came to Canada the first time I was a single man and spent some time working the doors in a few clubs. I have never had sooo much attention from women in my life! "Oh my god are you from England, you sound so sexy" thats what they said all the time. Just like in the movies! Unbelievable. and there all beautifull!
