just noticed today.

in my little town there are fkn hundreds of damn speed bumps, and today i noticed for the first time that when i go over them there is like a sound of something loose metalwise on the left hand side,

now my knowladge of cars is crap, i know where the fuel goes and a few other things, and thats it but im learning fast here..

what should i look for tomorrow when i jack that side up? im curious to see whats loose or if any of the rubber bits have rotted or perished.

just jack it up bud and see if there is anything hanging down , Could be a number of possabilities , but if its catching on speed bumps then u should be able to be something hanging lower than the rest of the car.

theres nothing hitting anything it just sounds like theres something very loose there.. metal clunking against metal..

is it likely to be the rubber bushes, seals etc?

probably a heatshield...

the ones around the maincats are notorious for getting hit when going over speedbumps and otherwise the heatshield above the propshaft could be loose.

Mine does the same. Sounds serious but found it happens when tapping the CATs, internals must be loose.. "Never mind there going in the bin as soon as I get time" :)
