Oil cooler. Uk cars had bigger oil coolers than the Jap imports.

Excellent, I wasnt sure if it was something to do with the air con. Now I know its not i'll move it.

Cheers bud

No need to remove it. Just angle it towards the front of the car and the fan will slide past it

Yep no problems - I did this a couple of months ago in my UK car. What BOVs are you fitting?

Ive got a set of bailey's twin piston.

i got these bailey bovs about a month ago, and was quite impressed with them (£205 from ebay).

took me ages to do first one, but once i done that and knew what i was doing it wasnt too much of a struggle for the second one. ended up having to remove the fan to get to the originals but once i managed to gain access it werent too bad.

didnt take the oil cooler off , although mine is a jap import so it may be smaller........although it has been upgraded to a bigger one (apparently), looks same size as yours in photo.

have fun!

Bought mine from ebay too ive had several bailey dump valves on other cars and i like the noise they make. The photo isnt mine, its the only one i could find that shows the area i am working. My oil cooler ends over half way up the fan making removal of the fan without moving the oil cooler impossible.

Got mine from ebay, they do touch my Mocal oil cooler though, but simple enought to fit.

Nice one, going to have a go this weekend.. weather permitting

You'll struggle m8, I did

I could'nt get the electric fan out but still managed to fit the BOV, undo the fan and pull it forward enough to get hand down back to undo bolts on BOV:cool:

Pretty easy job though just don't try for too long removing the electric fan.

Removing the bloody fan took longer than fitting the BOV's LMAO ...

The fan on UK's is a pain to get out, but if you undo those three bolts on the cooler as you see in the pic (from underneath irrc) you should be able to move it enogh without undoing the oil pipes etc. Recommend lots of WD40 first...one of mine was so siezed it snapped.
