ok, boyfriend just bought a zed, everything seems fine with it but when he started it up this morning it was whistling really loud. He took it up and down the dual carraigeway to warm it up and it seemed to stop but i was just wondering what it could be?

does it sound like when you get a blade of grass between your thumbs and whistle with it???? and does it get worse on boost ??

if so could be turbo gaskets - i had it once - really really loud - if so sorry bud its only a 50p part but you got to pull the engine

goosehonk from the recircs sound like that,no problem bur feckin anoying

I know exactly the sound you mean. Like a police siren as you said. The more the boost, the higher the pitch.

Mine did exactly this. It only did it when cold at first then started doing it more and more. The bad news is, I've just pulled my engine and took the turbos off. The exhaust side of one is full of oil and the shaft has a huge amount of side to side play in it. They're both going to Turbo Technics for a recondition tomorrow.

Sorry if this sounds like bad news for you.

its not bad news for me but it will be for the boyfriend cos he doing the work himself if thats what it is

it didnt happen this morning so fingers crossed but he will look at it while he is at work. if it does turn out to be the turbos then he said he will buy new 1's. Lets hope its running fine in july so we can make it to the JAE!!!!

Can someone please give me prices for how much this will cost to sort out?
