Hello. :)

For those who are parents and still drive your Zed, what is a good baby seat to get? Are there any that fit into the Zed's backseats?

Am just over 8 months pregnant now, so will need to get this in the next couple of months - we have the company car to use as well, so it's not urgent, but we will be driving about in the Zed, so baby will need somewhere to sit. The boot was suggested, but quickly vetoed! :D

Does anyone have any recommendations for baby seats?

Thanks. :D

Hi Anita,

First of all congratulation! :) Just did a quick search and it's been discussed quite a bit. I think it all depends on what rear seat belts you have.

Cheers Vijay. :D

At the moment, it's just the standard rear seat belts in the back. Ideally we'd like a seat that remains fixed in the car, as opposed to a removable car seat that leaves the base in situ.

I've read through the discussions but just wondered if there were any recent recommendations as these things change so much...

Blimmin expensive, having Zeds! I mean....a baby....! :D

It's a UK Zed btw - so standard 3 point harnesses.

new born to 1 year, could only find a front seat one, once they are big enough britax do one that has a foot well that folds under the seat and sits in the bucket of the rear seat very well, just cleared my loft out and its now sitting in the garage , if you want I'll ask the wife what she is doing with it and the other ten tonnes of sh1t that we seem to have accumulated

LOL...are you getting rid of the newborn one or the Britax one? If you do want to get rid of the newborn one, let me know what you want for it as I'd definitely be interested.

Thanks

Anita.

most likley both, prams buggy's three wheelers rough terrain you name it we have it. my daughter is nearly five so its just taking up space really. when my daughter came along my wife single handed, kick started the economy, after I cleared the loft to the garage we see what she wants to get rid off.

aaaah Ajay - congratulations! Does this mean the forum should have family membership? :D

Cheers Russ. :)

LOL Gio - possibly! :) We've already got it some small car booties (sad, yes but they were on sale! ;) ) and the bibs that we've been given have car themes on them as well, so I think a theme is being set! :D

Must renew my memebership to here as well.

Ajay,

I struggled to find a baby one that fits the back, but now I have a Graco Junior Plus, which is a Group 2-3. I bought it from Halfords and liked it because it doesn't take up much space. BUT, nothing I tried sat well onto the bucket seats, so I put a damp (very important) bin liner on the seat and sprayed it with expanding foam. Before the foam set I pushed the seat down onto it and left it to go off. Result is the seat fits securely into the bucket and doesn't slide around. So I guess this technique could work for all sorts of other seats too.

Hope this helps.

As far as I can tell all the 2+2 Z's have two baby seats ready fitted in the back ! :D

Anita pm me your address, and I'll post it or email me, not after anything , just one less thing in the tip

Do a search for my post a while ago, I bought one for bucket seats that still didnt fit, so put the seal belt on it, a cushion in the bucket and the most heavy duty lugage strap i could find to put inside the chair (around the frame top to bottm) and anchored it around the back seat and into the boot. Was safer than my seat lol ;)
