I need to take a feed to light up my new boost gauge.

Thinking of somewhere from the light switch cluster but don't know which to use as they are all different colours.

Anyone used this or something similar?

use a voltmeter on the wires til you find one that gives of a +feed or do what i do wire it in to the ignition switch theres 2 red wires one is from the battery and one from a switched source IIRC

HTH

If i wired it into that wouldn't it be permanently on soon as i turn on the engine?

Think what greg means is to wire it to a +V from the light switch circut as apose to the ignition direct. Do the diags as Greg said but find a live which only goes high when the lights are switched on. Normaly inside the right hand cluster pod
