After almost a year since I sold my Zed I am now looking at getting another. I knew it wouldn't be long before I got another one 'cos I missed it badly!!

 

Anyway, It's a 1991 Pearl White UK TT Manual with 75K on clock for a just £2495!! Seems very cheap. It's a trade car with ALL MOTS since new but not a full service history. Just had cam belt service etc....

 

My question is (knowing how much trouble I had with my old '89 Jap TT Auto), apart from the buyer's guide, what should I look out for on a UK car? I was hoping this one will be more reliable than my last as I am parting with my trusty daily drive Primera for it!!!

 

Any advise would be great!!!

No. That one was £6K worth I think. I dunno actually. Previous owner from Ebbw Vale....

Would definitely check for rust under the sills on UKs as some have been clumsily jacked :rolleyes:

This might be a thing to look for - IIRC the pearl white was only on j-spec cars, wasn't it?

 

UK cars had the regular white....

Thanks all. Maybe it will be regular white. The HPI says it just white so he might be coloured blind!!! Anyway, here goes.....

Well I'm pi**ed!! It was a Z31 FFS!! So I just walked away. Feel stupid but thought 'cos it was a 91 on a H and a UK car it would have been a Z32. Nevermind, I'll keep looking.....

that's correct, all though the DVLA are pretty slack on exact dates for Imports. Mine is registered as '91 but I know for a fact it is a '90.

 

But two years out!. But then it would not suprise me.

The guy also insisted it was a UK car evn though I thought it must be an import. I dunno............looking at a Jaguar XJ6 2.9 Auto tomorrow instead. Always fancied one but always looked for a 3.6 or 4.0l. Anyone got any experience or thoughts on the 2.9?

Thats a very different car to the zed.

 

Its more of a olde slow cruiser and now has a dodgy image.
