Ain't got it meself, but I know a bunch of you went for it in the recent group buys. Anyway:

My Supra-owning friend has developed a Windows app allowing you to monitor and configure all of the traction control system's settings from a PC.

In his own words: "...one guy used it to find out that the default settings supplied by Racelogic with the unit to supra owners

aren't right. Wonder if your 300 boys would find a use for it! smile.gif"

If you want more info or would like to try it, email Graham at: graham.rudd@net.ntl.com

He's expecting you smile.gif

hmmm that sounds interesting im keen.

just realised i could actually do something like that.

Raz,

Does your 'friend' develop this for Racelogic by any chance ???

Reason is that I know they were working on this and promised me a copy when it was ready to go. Haven't heard a dicky bird for a while though.

How do I get an 'evaluation' copy ?

So what's the software you get on the floppy then?

s/w on the floppy is DOS only. I'm not very good with DOS (before I was born etc). The poxy terminal emulator is fine, but the applications are fussy and expect a COM1: port. I messed with my various laptops for ages and never got them to work. My mate with the Toymota fudged all his BIOS settings and did get it going, but then he has to unfudge them for W2K to run (PITA)

Hence I was waiting for Ben at Racelogic to send me the windys app.

Not unless he's moonlighting! smile.gif We both work for a games company.

To get a copy just drop him an email (address is in my first post above). I don't know if he's charging for it, but knowing him I doubt it.

Raz

OK, don't all rush. I'll contact him now and pass on copies to others if he's happy with that.

Sorry Andy, I was still chuckling at your "I'm not very good with DOS (before I was born etc)." comment wink.gif

I dunno.. how come whenever I try and make a joke people take it personally... Sorry Andy.

This week, I shall mostly be going back to being sense-of-humour-less..

This week you shall be mostly misunderstanding peoples smileys wink.gif

Hehe.. Well you put a sad one!

Last time I tried to make a joke I got in trouble with someone too.. Not doing too well.. I think I'll steer clear of age jokes or jokes about women.. wink.gif Probably wise really!

Az,

Just don't combine the 2 or there will be major trouble!

Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce... (sorry no sound!) LOL

Bloody hell - he's got back to me already !!!

Here's the deal, he'll give it away for free, only one condition and that is that he has the email address of each user so that he can keep track and possibly send bug fixes, upgrades etc. He would like everyone to contact him directly to request a copy. Deal ? I thought so.

Incidentally, this is not the same as the mythical RL s/w, but he has sent them a copy to see if they want to use it, and it has the ability to save/restore configs, and you can choose the COM port and it looks pretty. Does it get any better than this ?

Just tested the s/w and it appears to work fine. Much better than the doggy terminal interface !

Thanks to Raz for putting us on to this and of course most thanks to Graham for writing it !

That software is written by Racelogic! LOL!

Like you know by now, if you hassle them enough they will give it to you.

It's all very nice, but until there is some help or a manual to explain what most of the settings mean you'll be well confused.

I was amused to read that the US guys configure them to shove flames out the back, sausages anyone?

so your saying you can get flames shooting out exhaust oh god here we go i know what im going to be doing

flames... anyone say FLAMES ???

What are the config parameters to get flames ? who did it in the states ??????? I'm keen as to set that up smile.gif

Graham got back to me with the software pretty quickly too. Was going to have a play today but was too busy cutting out a template for a aluminium ducting plate to sit just behind the fasica for cooling smile.gif

Yup, Graham got back to me in about 30 seconds with the software biggrin.gif

One point (not Z related, sorry). I am now using Outlook from Office XP. It appears that a new feature of this version of Outlook is to disable attachments that could be nasty (like scripts, executables etc). Basically, it means you can't get to them by any means (you would think they would let you turn this feature off!). Anyway, my point is that Graham sent me the software as a single .exe file. Outlook then, rather unhelpfully, blocked access to it. So, if you are using Outlook XP, when you ask for the software, ask Graham to put the .exe inside a zip file or to rename it to .ex or something.

Andy

Ok im an Expert with Communist Ports.

Let me at it smile.gif

Good old microsoft eh andy biggrin.gif Their way of stopping vulnerabilities is to make the software completely unusable biggrin.gif

However, there is a nice way around this. Create another folder in outlook called attach. Copy the email with the exe file into this new folder. Start up outlook express and go to file/import. Import from Outlook and select the attach folder. Once this is imported, find the attach folder in the folder list and you will be able to see your email along with its attached exe file wink.gif God damn I'm great aren't I??? Don't answer that biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

FYI I just finished completing the setup of Tims TC and when I checked tke factory config it was wrong. Turns out that it was set for 4 cylinder and the cut tables were not setup etc. So check it carefully after you've installed it.
