zed cut out 2 night would not start....RAC man cannot find whats wrong !!!

symptoms?

does it turn? What happened last time you drove it? Was it OK? Did this just happen when you turned the engine off and now it wont go.

 

Have you done an ECU Check?

Is it an automatic? If so is it in Park or Neutral? Possible inhibitor switch fault?

 

Just some ideas....but good luck

yep was driving fine.....pulled up to traffic lights an cut out....not start. engine turning over and tryng to fire up but not. not done ecu check yet. cam belt not broke, as cams can be seen turning through oil filler.....

 

will try ecu check later this eve when i gets in from work.

My first thought is the P.T.U but do a check see what codes come up :)

I would second the PTU - if after leaving it for about 30-60 minutes, the car works again.

Its heat related and you would need a new one, or get that one repaired.

The car would still run if a Cambelt had slipped unless it had slipped about 10 teeth in which case you probably would not be able to turn it over

 

Did the RAC guy check for Spark and Fuel ??? if you have no spark i would have as others have said suspect the PTU if that is all ok then you will need to check that your getting fuel

yep RAC did both sparks n fuel...all seemed ok there.....then I recon he was stummped...lol

 

i ll check to see if anycodes come up and let you know
