Hi, my imported Fairlady rear windscreen switch has never worked. Have checked connections in screen and all seems ok. Have also checked fuses manually. Has anybody got any ideas?

Thanks.

bad ground?...harness cracked/broken?....relay?...its quite a simple circuit for r/s/heaters but a multimeter would be a real bonus for checking the above

goto the online manual under electrical section...HTH

Also check the actual thin heater wires/lines that run all across the Rear Window for broken lines. They can get broken when cleaning inside of rear window.

Thanks for the reply's.

The light does not come on for that switch and the one below.

I got a heated rear screen repair hit from Halfords which allows you to fix these breaks.. Not tried it yet but will get round to it soon

Have fun mate.....

You'll need a nice THIN paintbrush...

If they still sell the kit with the silly cardboad template, I wouldnt bother trying to use it, unless you want a 3mm thick line of metalic paint joining the breaks!!

I used one once, and apart from those thick lines, it worked a treat...

I soon learned to clean the windows SIDEWAYS, not up and down!! DOH

Pud

could you not use masking tape?

Vijay

Yup....

Gotta be better than the crap I ended up with... I didnt use the template, just a brush and freehand... worked, but I didn't take enough care...

I'm buggering off now, cos I dont want to be accused of hijaking someones thread....

Who did incidentally ask for help from you wonderful, experts about a failed Headed Rear Window..... ;)
