just wondered, when i brought the car into the country, i was told to use 100 octane and not 95 knats piss

what gains do i get??

Japenese cars are setup for 100 octane fuel, which they have over there...and we dont. :(

The best we have is :

98 Octane - Shell Optimax.

97 Octane - BP Ultimate and Super Unleaded(??)

95 Octane - Regular Unleaded (never use)

Too low an octane fuel will result in pinking, and eventual engine damage. I think most Zed owners use Shell Optimax whenever possible.

Something like the JWT Chip is remapped for use with UK Fuels.

thanks mate!!! i was told to avoid normal unleaded, so i best use 98 when i can then!

Can you get a front Splitter for the Z32?

Interestingly, I viewed a Zed for sale today that had a front splitter fitted to the standard bumper. Looked quite good, but unfortunatly the owner had no idea of the make of it or where it can be sourced...so not very helpfull

Do you have any pics of said front splitter as I'm sure I know a place that used to do them as well as rear diffusers (they're based in Japan so may take a while to order/deliver). This was quite a few years ago so they may not exist anymore but it's worth a look into. I'll have a look at my records but a pic would be v. helpful.

Dont Stillen do front splitters?

Dont Stillen do front splitters?

No no that's the People's Front of Judea...

Yes ive dragged up an old one...lol

So does anyone know about these front splitters?

Does anyone do them please?

Tesco's offer a 99 RON fuel which ive been using!

Thats the stuff to use! Ive only had my ZED a week and always used Tesco's 99RON, I might try Opimax to see what its like!

Just had a trawl through my bodykit "database" and aside from the Stillen splitter, the only other two I found are made by Abflug and Kaminari:

And the Kaminari one is more of an "over-lip" than a proper splitter. TBH the Zed could do with a good quality, race look, functional FG/carbon splitter...I think I might have to get my arse into gear and design and make one! ;)

Leigh.

Yes...do it mate....

As you say...most of them fit over the original kit but not many will fit an aftermarket bkit like my C1.

I think i'll have to resign myself to the cardbord template and fibreglass routine for now...lol

Its the flat bit of plastic/CFibre/whatever that sits under the front spoiler at the tip of the nose...closest to the ground.

Mainly seen and used on the Touring cars or the DTM series ;)

In the picture at the top its the black bit on the silver car

Or when you think about it its quite obvious, it splits the front in two

I wonder why thats called a front splitter, sounds weird..

I think because it splits the air current/channel into various directions for added downforce and decreased under car pressure? (ie less air going underneath the car as the spoiler is lower)

All though a good undertray and rear diffuser would help with the under car pressure.

In touring cars the limit they used to have was 45mm from the floor....

a few used to cheat (alain menu in the renault when it was green) and have a multi position one which could be adjusted in the pits to meet the scrutineers checks at the finish ;)
