Zed failed mot on cracks in front pipes. So purchased some more. They have not got the mountings for what I assume are the O2 sensors in the cats. Can these still be fitted. My zed is a series 1 and I think the replacements may be off a series 2. Is that correct.

Think you may have purchased some UK cats?

I purchase some cats for my UK and they had mountings for sensors I persumed these to be for the cat overheating sensors I just put some gunk in and a bolts. UK cars don't have cat overheating sensors. (I got some jap cats)

I could be wrong though?

Hi Kevin,

What I think you might be referring to is the connection for the AIV's, which I think they removed in the series two cars.

I think it must be the AIV's holes which are no longer there, do a search for AIV removal on here or TT.net and it will go into detail about how to go about doing the job properly!

Thanks for the replies. I think they may be for the cat oveheat sensors not the aiv's. Can I remove these and tuck the wires out of the way. Does anyone know. My car is a series 1 jap spec

If you're right and what you're looking at are the overheat sensors then yes, you can ;) You can just push them back up into the car and keep them under the carpet - all they're connected to is the warning light dooberry

If you want to go the whole 9 yards, the wires go to a black box behind the handbrake underneath the centre console, just unplug the box, rip out the wires :)
