Anyone know which models nissan fitted this engine to (4.5l V8)

Looks like it might fit into a Z, in which case I think I might give it a go.

Bloody hell mate, you didn't mention that on the phone!! :D :D

Christ, if it'll fit, it's got to be done!

Will interrogate you more about this when I see you tomorrow... ;)

BTW just googled it and apparently it came in the 1990-1996 Nissan Infiniti Q45 whatever that was!

nice, I was wondering though....with that engine having less power than a stock TT, less tunable and quite a bit heavier....whats the idea behind the implant ?

Ahhh...V8...maybe less BHP but the torque will make you smile

torque is about the same as a stock TT as well, although I expect power delivery would be different. I would want to test drive a an Infinity V8 first, to see if the lazy nature of a big V8 would suit the car.

Acording to Sport Z magazine its going in to the new Skyline GTR :)

ps,prob slip straight into a 350 too.

surely you would turbo charge it before fitting it lol !

dont reckon there would be the space for that...supercharger perhaps...???? :hyper:

Apparently it's much lighter.

I just want an aspirated engine with good power, I really don't like the elastic power delivery of turbo engines.

Need to check it all out, it's just and idea. Be good though

Theres not a lot of space there but a V8 in the Z would be a good project to do.

Ferk, reckon it would be a bit of a beastie actually....hehe....do it....go on.....

a 300zx without turbos----aaaaaahhhhhh no way,iff it dont blow it dont go,jap cars to me are all about rpm power, use to think my iroc camaro was a good ride untill i put on a ttzx

Got some pics of the LS1 conversion too, but a nasty yank v8 seems sacrilige somehow. Want a revvy V8, not a big thumper.

Looks real good, love the paint..

I have to admit, I'm a sucker for a V8 too

Love that sound, low down grunt and instant power....(Hence I still love the Porker 928 GTS)

If the engine is lighter than the stock TT one, go for it :D

When I drove my Mk3 Supra, I always thought of replacing the straight-6 turbo lump with the V8 from a Lexus but someone told me it would be heavier and slower than before :(

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

PeterR told me this was the best engine that Nissan ever made

Aren't Infiniti a high spec branch of Nissan (like Lexus is to Toyota), sold in Japan? I heard they're close to bringing out a fuel cell car but I dunno if that's true.

This sounds good. Is exchanging an engine a very big job? How much to buy the engine in the first place? And how reliable is a transplanted engine? What other bits would have to be replaced apart from just the engine?
