Hi

Getting a judder when ever i go above 60, it is right through the car . Oddly though if i go faster say 95 it goes away a bit ??

Also just had new discs and pads on front because of breaking judder which solved that but now i get a sort of grinding noise when breaking, actually feels like something ruubbing tyre although there isnt anything there. Had all the wheels of etc and all looks ok with breaks so again am stumped.

Could it be tention rod bushers or something similar ? :mac1:

thanks

I think it could be the bushes ... Do you have aftermarket wheels? .. spacers? ... Hubcentric or cheapos?

I've heard that Zed's can suffer with a propshaft vibration problem, think that affects lower speeds though.

Try swapping wheels front to back (if you can) or checking their balancing.

The only reason I asked about spacers is I used to get judder until I fitted really good hubcentric spacers .. then all was cool...

strange but defo true ....

its got 17" momo alloys on at the mo, dont know bout spacers etc not really a mechanic type guy lol ( i dont even know what aftermarket means lmao).

it didnt do it prior to the breaks were done thing ?

is prop shaft bearing a dear job if it is that ?

Prob not to do with the wheels then mate .. maybe Mike is right ..... I am not a Zed specialist but I am sure someone will come up with an answer for you ....

Tracking, wheel balance, wheel bearings, take your pick.

Check the cheapest first.

Taken me 3 years and 3 sets of front tyres to finally cure vibration on 18" BBS RSIIs. I was starting to believe a wheel was buckled or a wheel bearing was duff

Secret was having someone who could achieve zero on the balance machine with minimum weights used and also the fact that it his machine was recently calibrated.

Maybe we are all too fussy. My so called balanced wheels were 35 to 50 grams out. At first he says he had got it down to 5 grams and I wouldnt feel it but then once he said he could actually get zero thats what I wanted. So thats what you should ask for too.

Smooth a silk any speed whereas vibration was about 75-85 meaning you either went too fast or too slow to avoid it.

Had the wheels done, tyrs are new, tracking spot on lol

Check the prop bearing bud,and the joints themselves. Also when you fitted the new discs did you check for runout?-not common but does happen!

garage did the discs so do not know , it sbooked in a zworld in oct so i guess i will just ave to let them ave a look :-)

vibration/judder there is a differance i thought prop-bearing would be more like a vibration

judder is more like when the steering wheel wont sit in your hand properly thats what i get a bit of now and again. oh well mot time next week we will see

strange this-i get a vibration going through the body on motorway but smooths out as the motor and drive train get upto workin tempertur-any ideas

well yes it is vibration, not like the judder you get with warped discs, it is very light in the steering more under the feet really

I had something a bit like this. Ditching the (almost new 'Kumho') tyres sorted it. But it sounds like your tyres are ok (unless they're a really cheap brand...? )

If it's more ''through the feet'' I'd deffo check drivetrain bud! ;)

If it gets better as it warms up it points more to the prop centre bearing and possibly also saggy hard transmission mount. Generally those vibes were felt from 40ish to 60 ish and smooth out as you go faster
