That's up to you but I dont think it is so I am not going to answer it.

Fair enough, I suppose. Seems odd that you know some traders are uncompetitive and yet you go ahead and set up rules to try and protect them though. You're in charge though so you can do what you like.

LOL Yas all clubs have rules,IMHO If you don't like that club then why not go find another?

Do you think we just make rules up for the sake of doing it?

lolol nah man i like this place

i aint gettin worked up or nethin, in fact im quite enjoying having a decent debate for once without things gettin out of hand. ur maybe th only mod with whom its possible to do that without questions being dodged and dodgy comments being made. ur straightforward and tell it how u/th comittee c it which is how its supposed to be and i appreciate that.

i just think some rules are made without full consideration of th benefits to club members which is what most of us r here for. i know we have to consider th role of our forum traders and their livelihood also, hence why i think when th comittee deliberates on an issue thr shud be an opportunity for both sides of th argument to be heard.

this could be done with an announcment of th proposal/issue inviting members to fwd their point of view in a forum which can only be seen by th commitee.

jus an idea, dnt shoot me

Exactly!

Iain, if you could lay off the personal comments and just stick to threats of violence like in the old days, that would be nice! :D

Oi I have NEVER threatened anyone on this forum HOWEVER.......................

That does not mean that I would not beat them to a pulp at one of the meets if they really pissed me off :mac1: :mac1: :mac1:

ya5een mate, you're still not reading the rules. GBs are NOT restricted to 5 - that's combined i.e. loads of different parts to loads of different people. A GB for 11 sets of PCVs? Totally within the rules AFAIK - at least if Mac says so.

I think where we would have a problem is if one person kept doing "group buys" - as Mac says, trading through the back door - at a profit without coughing up the traders subscription.

If they were allowed to get away with that, the traders would (rightly) get the hump. And stop giving their support. And the forum wanted a trader officer to encourage traders to cough up which is the role that Mac took on which has saved every subscribed member money in subs.

Anyway, isn't this another storm in a teacup? I trust Mac to interpret the rules fairly - after all he was a member before he was a trader liaison bod. And if i don't like the results, I can vote him out of the committee and into the lake next Billing!

no mate cos u can get PCV kits from trader forums so it aint allowed, i have read it, properly

no mate cos u can get PCV kits from trader forums so it aint allowed, i have read it, properly

It says

Group Buys - Members wanting to conduct group buys on the Club’s forum on a “not for profit” basis must first get approval from the TLO before the GB goes ahead. The TLO will make sure that GB items(s) cannot be supplied by one of the subscribed traders at a fair price and timeframe.

So it IS allowed if the item cannot be supplied at a fair price and timeframe.

My personal interpretation is if a group buy is "for profit" then the organiser is trading and should cough up - either as a trader or in the discount section.

If a group buy is "not for profit" and beats a trader price, then there's no problem. Someone needs to check the buy is "fair" - and that should mean fair for members, fair for traders - and that someone is the TLO.

So it's allowed as long as it is fair all round. Fair enuff?

And BTW, there is no law that says you MUST buy from Traders or from Group Buys - if it's a good deal, buy. If it's not a good deal, don't.

Oi I have NEVER threatened anyone on this forum

For the record, that was *supposed* to be a joke.

I only wanted an answer as to why I cant get it? :(

Which member of the committee/mods did you pm about your concern ?

Please feel free to list any concern you have to me via pm. If I can not answer them I will bring them to the attention of the committee/mods and get back to you. However you have to understand that the runnig of this club is all volentary and we also have day jobs etc so you may not get an answer straight away, but you will get an answer.

Stuart 3 people at the start of the thread before it went off track expressed an interest in knowing what happened, 1 person then asked and i then asked in the most polite manner possible, with hundreds of views of this thread and umpteen posts, cannot ANY mod who must know the answer just post it up please ? i fail to see why we must PM for an answer when it should all be out in the open, in particular the offending bit so the person concerned can refrain from doing it in the future and we all would then have a better understanding.

I think Topless did say he would answer before going off line if no one beat him to it, clearly they havn't so any chance please.

MARK:

so does that mean th comittee demands respect on being questioned or th act of questioning th comittees decision is a banable offence?

Not at all as long as the questions are delivered in a polite manner and any criticism is constructive!

I just know am going to regret saying this as it will bump up my "who whinges the most" votes

BUT as i read the jefftt thread giving advice to the members regarding boost leaks and advice as he often does, would a mod or commitee member be so good as to let us know what part of it breached forum rules, please feel free to show us the offending snippet so that we and more importantly jeff know what to avoid in the future.

Many thanks for your help :)

Smithy

Here yer go mark, from about 25 posts previous and another above about 8 mins before you posted your last post

thanks

smithy

Mike I would hate to see your bandwidth usage after this single question finally gets an answer! LOL :)

Smithy I know and I was just about to answer this, it appears to me that you are trying to bait the committee at this point in time, what are you so angry about?

LMFAO you just avoided answering again Mark   ;)

LMFAO, Mark just say "My official answer on approval from de Committee is...I was very...very...very...DRUNK!!!" :)

The thread was moved because it was seen as promoting his business indirectly and is in moderation being discussed at the moment.

Mark, quick...lock it...lock it!

Not in the slightest angry mate at all, the same question was asked about 3 or 4 times on this thread, infact the thread was started because a thread that went missing and since it started there have been 3 or 4 mods posting on it ! so nothing more than just asking again and again mate.

I really commend you as being the one that always give us the answers i really do, when others could have done it way before now and before it went of track.

Hopefully the commitee will look at the points i sent them regarding forum issues and if approved ,disappearing threads will not cause a stink in the future.

Oh can i just point out i never started this one this time :D i only joined in after questions asked disn't seem to get an answer.

thanks mark am sure now as Jeff reads this he will ensure to refrain from any possible indirect promoting of his business.

cheers
